April 28, 201214 yr Not only do I like exploring from the air but it is also fun just poking around on the ground. I explore air fields and any installation that looks interesting, Since I learned to run I can cover a great distance on foot. I have lost my aircraft a few times and I have gotten stuck in some really strange places. I think we all know there are many different way of getting out of those situations. I find it more humorous then anything else. If I land at a airpot and see a lighthouse in the distances I just have to go investagate. I find the ground detail just amazing and don't expect everything to be perfect, it is after all, a make beleive and rather fascinating world we are exploring. It can only get better.
April 28, 201214 yr Agreed! that is the one feature i have been wanting for years. I wish we could design for Flight as i want to build all kinds of flightlines/places to explore, hopefully one day! Best, Michael KDFW
April 28, 201214 yr Yea, sometimes I do the same, allthought I'm a little lazy to walk around. That's why I use the plane as a 'cab', and 'drive' throught the streets. Feels like a tourist. I guess the Hawaiian people are a little bit confused to see me 'driving in a aircraft' throught their city ;-)) Nevertheless, Hawaii is the place to be ... for a pedestrian: - they will never drowning when they fall in a river; - they will never die when they 'fall' in a 1000 ft deep ravine (you can easily descent or walk up a ravine like spiderman). Fun ...
April 28, 201214 yr That's how I picked up one of the waterfall caches that kept eluding me - I landed in a clearing and risked life and limb by hacking my way through the primeval jungle. Then, to my own great surprise, I actually found my way back to my plane and took off again. That was fun. - Peter C http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bob_and_Ray_Show
April 29, 201214 yr Author I got one of the waterfalls that way also. Waiting for a chopper to get a couple more that are alusive.
April 29, 201214 yr I just wish people could see you when you are outside the plane. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. April 29, 201214 yr When I exit the plane, i go to Google Earth , street view as stroll over a couple of blocks around the airport's surroundings. This lets me get a sense of the ground view, I get also to see traffic and people in the area.
