I've been all over the net looking for a good headset microphone without headphones attached and I have only been able to find one. I bought it and the mic works fine but the headset structure is flimsy and after only 1 month it's already broken. So anyway - if anyone knows where I can get a good Headset Mic without the headphones attached I would appreciate a website. Thnx

This is not what you asked, but I use a set from Cyber Acoustics that has only one ear piece. This lets you hear the external sounds of the cockpit etc yet you can select headset from the config and have just the voices come through the earpiece if you like. I have used this set for years and I think they are about $35 US.

Thnx for the response Dennis, unfortunately, I have a convoluted system where I use RCv4 as well as the FSX default ATC. While I could get FSX ATC through the headset, RCv4 comes from a networked machine and I can't get that through the headset so I play all sounds through the surround sound. I've been very surprised at how hard it is to find a headset mic with out the earphones.

I recommend a "USB" headset... get a no-name one if you're on a budget... $20 one will work just fine.
