April 30, 201214 yr Hey, I just recently bought and downloaded Radar Contact V4.3.3845. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I using FSX with It's Your Plane add-on, Rex 2.0. I just installed RCv4.3 and whenever I try and load a flight plane, it gives me an error: Run-Time Error 481 - Invalid Picture. It also gives me this error when I click on the voices button. Has anyone one else encountered this error? I have no idea what to do in order to fix this. This would suck big time after spending over $50 to purchase this software. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
April 30, 201214 yr I have RC4 and FSX on Windows 7 but don't have any problems. Have you tried with a standard FSX plane? Some things just don't work with 3rd party airplanes (e.g., it's unlikely that the RC4 autopilot will work).
May 1, 201214 yr hey, how did you installed it: uac and av off, run as admin?. further have you downloaded the latest fsuipc (4827) and makerways (4.60) from the pinned topic?. after that run the rebuild scenery button john John Cramer
May 1, 201214 yr Commercial Member in 10 years, i've never heard or seen that error message. i can only think that something went wrong with the installation. it's also possible, that in each of the voices directory is a picture of a little flag, to go on the buttons of each of the voices. maybe somehow one of those flag pictures has been changed or become corrupted. i suggest re installing. and if you would rather have your 50 dollars back, i'll be happy to do that too. jd JD Read my blog
May 1, 201214 yr http://support.microsoft.com/kb/964421 make sure you have started rc with a right click to run as admin or set up a shortcut with that property. This is a program level access, not a user access. In addition make sure your security apps are not interfering (see pinned topic). The MS article above suggests you do not have enough space to these temporary working folders or they are out of space (on your windows drive). I am not sure also if not enough RAM space would cause the problem. Just loading a .pln file into RC doesn't do anything with graphics other than display your plan in the main RC window. FSUIPC and FS do not need to be running to do this and that would be a good test to see if RC is generating the error. Just don't use the START button in RC without FS running with a loaded aircraft. RC does use temp file space so be sure there is enough room on your Win hard drive to allow such use (or the drive you designated in Windows for temporary storage. A Yahoo search indicated solutions regarding corrupted registries, malware, etc. Another idea is you could start RC in Win XP SP3 compatibility mode. Try that if you are getting that error running RC stand-alone.
