ILS not aligned correctly

Featured Replies

Hi all

Recently all of my aircraft and all of my ils approachs seem to be incorrect. What I mean by this is that no matter what I do when landing at all sorts of different airports. I capture the ils but the plane flys to the left of centre line and the ils goes full scale right. This is not an offset issue as it happens on most if not all approaches. it happens in a variety of aircraft. i just updated my nav data via navigraph and I still have the problem i have never had this problem before and i have had this fsx install for quite some time now.

Is there a way to reset the ils data

I tried the flight1 registry tool as i read in this forum that might have been a factor but it did not change anything.

Thoughts. Peter

This is not clear.

1. when you say you capture the ILS.. are you using the autopilot? not you manually operating.

2. what does this"and the ils goes full scale right"" mean? Do you mean your localizer needle is to the extreme right?

Not to worry Peter, I had the same thing happen to me out of the blue last year and following these instructions by Ryan at PMDG fixed it the first try. You're right, you need the F1 tool, but that is only part of the fix. Read the quote from Ryan below and follow it to the tee and you should get it fixed.

With FSX shut down:

1. Go to C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX - delete the Facilities and SceneryIndexes folders you see there.

2. Download the Flight 1 registry repair tool at http://www.flight1.c...sp?page=library right click it and choose Run as Administrator (this is very important, I have seen it fail to fix the issue if it's run with normal user permissions) Select the FSX option and point it to your FSX.exe file.

3. Run FSX - it will rebuild the Facility data and Scenery Indexes and you should be set.

BTW, its funny how one day your fine and the next day it happened to me and I was stumped why all of the sudden all my ILS approaches had me comming in about 50 yards left or right of the runway. Anyway, try Ryans instructions and post back if and let us know how you got on.

#1 Yes autopilot

#2 Full scale right means , the localizer needle slowly moves to the full limit right hence the plane is left of the c/l

thanks

Glad it worked for you Pete. I know the first time it happened to me, it had me ready to pull my hair out. I still have no idea how or why it happened, but the only thing I can pin it on was the fact that I had installed a new scenery prior to that and its the only thing that changed in my FSX install from one day to the next. I am guessing that when I installed the new scenery and the scenery indexes rebuilt themselves on the next FSX boot and something must have gone wrong in that process. At least you know what to do the next time it happens :-)
