May 1, 200422 yr Vitriolic? :-hmmm :-lolI was merely stating that there would never be another version of MSTS ..... it's finished. :-hmmm Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
May 1, 200422 yr ><>>>>>:-))>>>good question. (doctor heal thyself)>>cheers,>B>>PS...do you realize that in the above post you kept repeating>that you just asked 3 questions. You are focused on WHAT you>wrote, I am focused on WHY you wrote what you wrote....its>different. Once you shift your mind over to intention,>rather than action...you'll see that my points remain>unchallenged.>>My smiley above was not intended to insult you, it just struck>me funny that you see insecurity in the thread responses, when>the entire thread is built on your own insecurity about the>future of a compter program. Hope you can see the irony. All he did was ask a few questions. You read too much into what he typed. You kind of remind me of some of the women I know.lol:) Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3

May 1, 200422 yr I'm not too worried about MS pulling out of the flightsim market. I'm sure FS is a much bigger "game" than Train Sim and they are making enough money to continue developing it.If they cancel the FS series, or if it gets too dumbed down, there are many other alternatives. X-Plane and Flightgear are both only waiting for more talented developers to make planes, scenery, AI etc. for them. In fact, an open-source sim like Flightgear sounds like a dream come true for addon developers who always seem to complain about the hush-hush around certain FS features... -
May 1, 200422 yr nope, I'm explaining the vitriolic responses he got. That's what he wondered about, and I bet anything I'm right on target why folks got upset with him.
May 2, 200422 yr I really can't see how you can base this on this text. Sure it seems to me that this is temporarily. Sure FS has earned the respect and dedication it is today but there really isn't any reason MSTS can't either if perhaps they built MSTS similarily to MSFS. Think about it. Never is such a negative word as well. We just can't judge and that is why people have the saying "Never say Never"

May 2, 200422 yr Regardless of all said above - my personal view is that there just isn't the appeal in driving a train. My son has MSTS on his PC - I've had a couple of goes with it - there is really not much need for "aquired skills" to use it - in other words , my small grandaughter learnt to drive the train in a few minutes .Compare this with the complexity of FS- if you're going to do things properly - it seems to me you never stop learning. Just when you think you'ver got it all cracked you find a new situation/aircraft - or whatever , that require more practice/learning etc. The subject of how big a seller FS is can be difficult to be even remotely precise about. All I can say is that - for every FS user that is involved deep enough to participate in forums like this one - I know at least 10 or more who have FS but use on an occasional/casual basis and I suspect the true figure is much much higher than that.Dave
