Aircraft Missing from "Select Aircraft" Screen

Featured Replies

I am missing several aircraft when I fire up FSX and go to the "Select Aircraft" screen. Specifically, the default Maule, Lear45 and the Goose. All these folders are present in my "Airplanes" folder located in my "SimObjects" folder ( entire path is: C:/ Program Files (x86)/ Microsoft Games/ Microsoft Flight Simulator X/ SimObjects/ Airplanes).

Fact is, I don't recall them ever being present in the "Select Aircraft" screen and so I can't say I did something to lose them. I have quite a few a/c addons and all are present in the "Airplanes" folder.

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

John

Would it possibly be a problem or a missing line from your aircraft.cfgs?

I had this happen to me with the a321. For some reason the model folder was gone. Lucky for me I keep the drive backed up and was able to copy it back.

What version of FSX do you have?

If it's FSX Standard then the Maule and Goose are AI only and will not show up in the aircraft selection screen.

Thanks, Joe! I do have the standard version. I used to have it installed with SP1 & SP2 only but a recent fiasco caused me to have to un-install FSX. When I re-installed the standard version of FSX I also purchased and installed Acceleration rather than re-installing SP1 & SP2. Somehow I was under the impression that I might get the Maule with Acceleration but that appears not to be the case.

I really appreciate the information!
