AS2012 DWC performance problem

Featured Replies

Hallo,

I also contacted the Hifi support (via ticket system), but I´m asking myself, if anyone

could help me as well.

Here´s my problem:

- FSX

- AS 2012 -> direct weather control

- download interval set to 5 mins

For several days it worked perfectly, the program ran perfectly as well under AS Evolution, but now the system performance decreases every time (5 mins.) the AS weather engines loads the weather into FSX.

FPS decreases from 30 to 5. No chance to fly.

FSX and AS2012 run on the same PC.

Windows firewall is deactivated.

Do I need to configure the simconnect?

I entered the static IP which I configured in the Wifi Router.

Network settings (router):

- NAT activated

- DHCP deactivated. Flightsim pc has a static IP.

- TCP/UDP ports 500 forwarded (I had to forward those when I used two PC´s in former days)

- static IP entered into the AS2012 simconnect file

ASE2012 is connected to FSX, I think there are no errors in the AS log file.

I´m really helpless, I don´t know what else I could do.

It should work fine, but it doesn´t.

The performance is being killed by the weather engine every 5 mins, no matter if new weather is loaded or not.

Any hints? solution?

Thanks in advance

Daniel

If you are running on the same PC, why do you have all that network stuff configured? You don't need it and it may be your culprit.

In the former version "Evolution" everything work ok with the network stuff configured.

Maybe I should give it a try by resetting the AS2012 simconnect file?!

thanks so far, gonna write what will happen.

I deactivated the simconect files, but still no change on the performance.

weather update still drops performance to almost zero.. :-(

Considering that it worked for a while and THEN started having issues, I'd bet that your problem is NOT AS2012. Anything else get installed recently? Any auto updates? Av programs, flash player? Some AV programs when they update will reset the options and cause a scan of every action.

Try setting up a clean boot with only what you need to run FSX and see if things improve?

Nothing in your listed network settings should have that effect.

hi vic,

no firewall or antivirus installed.

pc runs fsx only, no more programs.

no updates installed in the last days.

Next thing I did was to try "Smooth Cloud Transition". Same problem...

Hi again,

nobody here for further ideas? :-(

Next try:

I installed AS2012 on a Notebook as a client via simconnect.

Connection is established and the weather is loaded into FSX, all works fine.

However, as soon as the download interval (5mins) is reached the performance decreases near "0".

Even via network!

Where´s the problem??

Hi,

This might be a silly suggestion but what happens if you increase the download interval to say 15 mins.Your system might be getting clogged up with such a short interval.

hi norman,

there are no silly questions in this world ;-)

No influence how long the download interval is!

Then the performance decreases after 10 or 15 mins corresponding to the slider...

I just installed ASE (the older version) - again the problem occurs.

Same as in AS 2012...

The problem is between the steps:

- download met/rep data from prim. server

- synthesis updated

- met/rep report received

- met/rep complete

Between these steps, the performance is being killed ...

Hate to sound like a broken record but *something* on your system is interfering. If this wree an AS issue we would all be having a lot of troubles. What are your system specs? Run task manager - how many processes are running? Have you run a spyware scan - malwarebytes is very good.

Obvious question - have you power cycled your router?

I run this system since months without any problems considering ASE and AS2012.

No further software (AV, spyware, firewall) is installed.

At the moment I´m running AS2012 and FSX on the same PC.

I uninstalled flash player and java, no changes.

Do you think, there is any kind of malware on my PC?

Shall I download malwarebytes and check my PC?

What do you mean with "power cycling the router"? Just Turn it off an on again?

Update:

I ran an antivirus software and malwarebytes. several infected files were found.

I restarted the router,

however, still no effect on the performance....

any further hints?

Hey,

yesterday I followed an idea from the HIFI support.

I disconnected the Wifi and connected a LAN cable.

Now everything works fine again.

There must be interrupted settings in the wifi router... don´t know which that could be.
