May 31, 201214 yr Author Enter TAS there. Most of my flights it's about 450. Okay, but FSX has a choice between TAS and IAS. Which one should I use? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
May 31, 201214 yr Commercial Member I was just confused because on VATSIM for example, aren't you supposed to enter a cruising speed on your flight plan? For VATSIM, if you use the SimRoutes route parser (copy and paste the FlightAware route into the SimRoutes route box - minus the SID/STAR), it will autopopulate that field after you submit the route and choose an aircraft on the next screen. http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/ParseRoute.aspx Okay, but FSX has a choice between TAS and IAS. Which one should I use? IAS - every plane is at least IAS. More advanced planes may also display TAS (I believe the NGX does on the ND) Kyle Rodgers
May 31, 201214 yr Well, you would put true airspeed on the flight plan thingie, but you would of course use indicated airspeed / mach number when you communicate with ATC. Johan Pettersen

June 3, 201214 yr Okay, but FSX has a choice between TAS and IAS. Which one should I use? That choice only effects the airspeed indicator, and it effects all planes, not just the NGX. Should be set to IAS if you want it as real life. TAS is generally unrealistic for that gauge. Mark Keith
June 4, 201213 yr That choice only effects the airspeed indicator, As I know on some not default aircraft it also affects verical navigation. Always set IAS. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
