June 2, 201214 yr I have modified the Official 737NGX 738 painkit to make a cargo only version, I have made the following changes - deselected windows/frames in psd - added cargo door outline - edited window alpha channel to show lighting in overwing escape door and not usual window profiles. I have not altered the fde, mdl or cfg files in anyway. I have tried to ask permission by way of the PMDG website but cannot find an appropriate link and for some reason, although a registered and licenced user my account won't verify. I have posted several freeware repaints of the 737NGX on various sites and would like to do cargo variants using my modified painkit. The modified painkit is for my own use to make freeware repaints of 737-800 Freighters publicly available, on various sim sites, I WILL NOT make the modified painkit available to other users. Does this contravene any PMDG propriety rights if I am not seeking re-numeration for my work, it is freeware and as usual PMDG is credited with the parent product. Can a forum moderator for PMDG reply to this post please. steve s
June 3, 201214 yr Every livery made by every repainter is an alteration of the official PMDG paint kit. That's the whole purpose. You don't have anything to worry about. Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules

June 3, 201214 yr While a lot of us that are painting have figured out how to remove the windows, some painters might have no progressed that far. My suggetions is that you put the files together and upload it to the AVSIM library as a "cargo" paintkit depending upon which version you have edited. All the paintkit needs to be is the individual fuselage psd files (3 of them) and instructions. If you're wanting to include the bump files (so any outline is completely removed), then you will need to explain how to configre the texture.cfg file in each texture and instructions on adding those bump files to the respective texture folder. I don't believe you would need any permission from PMDG. Just my thoughts... Steve StubbsUSAF (retired)
June 3, 201214 yr Guys, Thanks for your replies - I'll start posting a few repaints of the cargo variant and see the response is before I release the freighter paintkit. As mentioned most re-painters can do this. I've just saved a lot of time by making a template.

June 5, 201214 yr I know this is off topic (forgive me please), but what do I do to get my shadows this dark? No matter how intense the sun is, my shadows are always very faint, like say one fifth of this contrast. Chidiebere Anyahara

No matter how intense the sun is, my shadows are always very faint, like say one fifth of this contrast. The screenshot is off my system. I've always had shadows that dark. Your system specs appear to be similar to mine. Not sure how to answer your question, but believe it's probably related to a gamma or contrast setting. To me those areas would make the biggest impact on that shadow. I would try adjusting that on your monitor first and if that doesn't work, then try the Nvidia control panel. Just my thoughts...
