May 12, 200422 yr Hello !!I am thinking about purchasing an add-on product to increase the AI traffic provided in FS2004. I know several products exist, and I don't know which one to buy. As far as I know, I will have to choose between Ultimate Traffic and MyTraffic 2004.If some of you have one of these products, I'd like to know your opinion about them so that I can make my decision. I think this can be interesting for many people around here...The most important question for me is the following:If you add so many aircrafts to the AI traffic, does it impact your frame rate significantly?I guess the answer is yes... In that case, which product is the most optimized to reduce the FPS impact?Any information is greatly welcome.Thank you !!Eric My Web Site
May 12, 200422 yr Yes, all traffic programs will cause a hit on fps. You best bet is to get the best program and change your ai traffic % to a level that provides accepable performance. In my opinion, Ultimate Traffic is the best. I believe many people will agree.P.S. I love your Airbus panels! Thanks for the great work! May 12, 200422 yr You mostly see two groups here; the commercial flight people and the GA people. I own both products. Ultimate Traffic is great for the commercial enthusiast with its heavy iron theme and the real-world flight schedules. MyTraffic offers more in the way of general aviation with smaller planes and populating smaller airfields. It offers the commercial traffic as well, just not to the degree that UT does. Two great programs, I feel. You just choose according to where your interests are...Rick Rick
May 12, 200422 yr The combination of Ultimate traffic (real world schedules, great) and Markus Brunner's (FREE) GA-Traffic generator cannot be beat - IMO. I have FPS issues (down around 10 at major airports like KEWR, KATL) but just use the FSUIPC traffic toggle to reduce AI to 60% on approach to someplace crowded, then my FPS is back up into the teens.GA-Traffic is excellent because you can generate a GA traffic file that is somewhat tailored to your needs...few planes, just a couple of cessna's or lear jets hopping around all over the place. Great stuff. If you don't care about commercial traffic, just download that...Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
May 12, 200422 yr You should absolutely check out http://www.projectai.com too!It is a very comprehensive traffic addon site, and it's free.It can be a little intimidating and take a little time to set up, but it's actually quite easy after you've done it once. There are many liveries, and lots of traffic. With the traffic turned up, and lots of packages installed, you will be blown away to see all those jets and GA planes buzzing all around the airports. They have the AFCAD 2 files too that work with their installer. Even at less popular airports you will see some serious traffic.
May 13, 200422 yr Author Thanks for all your answers.Regarding what is written here, my feeling is that Ultimate Traffic is better (especially if you add the freeware GA-Traffic), and it will impact the FPS.Gridley, you wrote "use the FSUIPC traffic toggle to reduce AI to 60%". I don't understand that. I have never seen any toggle to adjust the AI traffic in FSUIPC. I only have the freeware version, maybe I need to get the registered version to have this.@christianholmes, I know Project-AI, they are doing a great work, and it is freeware. I have been using it for FS2002, but today I don't want to spend hours setting up the AI traffic, it is too much work. I'd rather buy a packaged software that does it all. Thanks again for your contribution.Eric My Web Site
