Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

Now can someone help me please... ?

Now my problem, My FSX keeps on locking up after about 45 minutes to an hour and a half, After it has locked up it freezes for about 10 to 15 minutes, then it will start going again, I have been searching for a fix now for just over 10-15 hours and im stressing loads over it....

Please Help

George

I had something similar, George.

First off, make sure you have disabled your screensaver. Then do a search here on how to download UIAutomationCore.dll and where to put it. Next look for Word Not Allowed's tweaks, follow them more or less to the letter, and you will be good to go.

Only problem is that I have already tryed all that apart from the first one

Sounds like it might be a thermal issue. Check your processor temps.

Tend to agree with toedv. I had a similar problem when we had a hot spell here in the U.K. a couple of weeks ago. I have a 737-800 cockpit and three projectors. I realized that the heat output from one of my projectors was being sucked straight into my main Server P.C. I now have a small 12 volt fan blowing this heat away, and what was a Green House blowing fan (blowing cold) directed at my Server P.C. Since doing this, no more problems. So, in short if you are using your Sim. in a relatively warm/hot place, consider investing in a cooling fan directed at your P.C. Also, if you are Overclocked with sliders to the right, your P.C. is going to produce more heat. You might have to consider turning things down a little. Hope this helps.

Yep, one of the first symptoms for me when my cooler [NH-D14] is clogged is a lock up. Check your temps with Raeltemp or Coretemp, and check the cooler heat sink for dust. Or any failed fans of course.

Could also be a software issue of course.

Yup, agree with the thermal issue. Here, in the southwestern U.S., an air compressor and 10 minutes of time go a long way toward enjoyment, both mine and my PC's.
