Hi guys,

Upgrading from a 480 card, I think its on its way out.

Our of the 570/580 and 670/680 which is the best?

Here in the UK a 580 is around the same price as a 670.

I'd go for the 670. It is faster than the 580, runs cooler, smaller, sucks less power, and it more aesthetically appealing.

Just went 480 to 670, the difference in system temps is amazing, well worth it

The 670 definitely seems to be much faster in a number of reviews. I'll be getting a new Ivy Bridge system soon and I've already decided on a 670.

I too have upgraded from a 460 to the 670, and I can safely say that the difference is night and day. I have much more leeway to ramp up the graphical settings on FSX, and it really really shows. I can run Orbx's KSEA and PNW (among the other ones, but PNW is the most graphically demanding) at pretty much 30 FPS locked, with the overcast clouds and the cloud density coverage set to 12. I've also bumped up my LOD Radius to 6.5 from 4.5 and really no FPS hit.

I have to warn though, I'm only running a 1680 resolution monitor, so I'm not sure if I were running a 1920 (or whatever) resolution would have such a huge difference (it would still be a huge difference, but I'm sure the FPS would be a little lower, yet still smooth running and awesome looking.) I highly recommend getting the 670 over the 500 series.
