June 20, 201213 yr On the yoke. I've never noticed that! Thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely be using this on VATSIM. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 20, 201213 yr "they use call sign speedbird 95 in simulator and emergency simulations, pilot reverted back to his training" I think that's what the AAIB said in their report. He reverted back to the callsign used in the sim during emergency training. I don't think BA does that anymore. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
June 20, 201213 yr What about when a flight has 4 digits? ie. SWA7854 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 20, 201213 yr What about when a flight has 4 digits? ie. SWA7854 If I can remember phone numbers that I haven't dialed in close to a decade, I can remember 1 number. Just set the first three. Or write the number on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere on the instrument panel (not blocking important instruments). Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
June 20, 201213 yr If I can remember phone numbers that I haven't dialed in close to a decade, i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 20, 201213 yr Are you sure of the flight number? Sounds weird to me that a pilot is mentally closing his flight before landing... Isn't this a more acceptable explanation? Bert Van Bulck Yes I am sure, I read the Captain's book on the subject - Thirty Seconds to Impact - and in the book, he confirmed that this was what happened. He was thinking about his next flight. June 21, 201213 yr It could be that the Captian was flying the same trip over and over again with the same two flight numbers. Last year for eight and a half months all I flew was flights 204 and 205 so it would be easy to say the wrong one every once in a while. As far as the four digit flight numbers ours are always in the 1000/2000 range so I just leave the one or two off. My tiny brain can usually remember which one it is. Usually. Tom Landry
