only problem I see is that I don't think there's a download version. I don't want to have to wait for the CD! :-)This is going to be in the top 3 in my hangar for sure...billg

Look awesome, the DC3 wasn't on the top of my list for add-ons to get but I'll have to make an exception here...I hope there's a download version as well. The mail order only option should be a thing of the past by now... :-boom

YESsssss!I had about given up. Seems the quality just keeps going up. (So do the prices, but well deserved, and this one is for a good cause too). Thanks for the heads up!RTH

I hear you, but I am still happy to get an original hard copy CD. Saves trying to figure out the hygroglyphics my keys seem to turn into when I have to reinstall.Happy flying:RTH

She is definatly looked sweet!!!.As for the download vs CD, hmmmm I dont mind getting a CD version, for a couple of reasons. For the amount that they seem to be packing into this package the download would be very big, I am guessing, so for me, and others like us who are unable to get broadband, the CD would probably be an easier option.Plus, it makes a change to buy something and get something "physical" for it, rather than a download, also you will have no trouble reinstalling it ;)Dan.

SSSHHHHHHH! You might create a stampede of preorders that will just make me wait that much longer for mine. :( - Matt D.

That puppy can just come on and land right straight on my hard drive!!!!! I'll make sure there's plenty of room for it between all the Posky, PMDG, PSS, IFDG, SGA, Ariane, Jet City and oodles of other planes.Lee:-jumpy

I love the Dc-3, I love MAAM-SIM's previous version of the Dakota, but I won't buy it. I guess you all asks why not? Let me explain. If I buy this CD it will cost me about 60 dollars at the end of the line (at least, maybe even more), instead of the original prizetag of $30. When the envelope arrives in Norway, I will be charged for norwegian WAT (24% of the value), I will have to pay costumsfees because the package is bought outside Europe, and a nice little handlingfee will be added by the costumsoffice for doing the paperwork. We live in the year 2004 and a downloadable package should be very easy to make by MAAM-SIM. I know this dakotapackage is the benchmark of all dakotas for FS, but the distributionmethod stops me from buying it.Jan Roar Rod

I dont think anyone has said there WON'T be a download version, but it just seems that it won't be downloadable yet.I may be wrong thoughDan.

Sure see your point. I conceed. Still would be nice to have both available. I feel sure I will go for the CD.Happy flying:RTH

She looks great, but a 16 point fuselage is a little "blocky" for my taste.Great job on the pits though, they look excellent.

Can anyone tell me what the lanyards are for from the center window post down to the panel?

Hello there,>She looks great, but a 16 point fuselage is a little "blocky">for my taste.>Interesting. Just curious as to where you found that piece of information. Not that it matters much to me because I have never known how many points the fuselage is made up of in any aircraft I have ever purchased. Nor do I know how many points an FS2004 DC-3 model needs for it to be considered smooth(subject to individual opinion I'm sure). I usually just go by how an aircraft looks from screenshots and what other people have to say about it in forums(unless I bought it the moment it was available). To me, the fuselage looks great in the screenshots. I cannot say that it looks incredibly different than the default DC-3. But then I don't have an incredible eye for detail on the external portion of aircraft models like some other people do. Does anyone know how many points the default DC-3 has for the fuselage?>Great job on the pits though, they look excellent.I agree! They look astonishing! :-eekFrom the screenshots I'd have to say I'm with Dan, "I gotta get me one of these!!!" Even so far as to say that even though I'd prefer to be able to download and install right away, so I don't have to wait ;), I'll likely order the CD if it's the only option available upon release. With the incredible detail of the panel I just hope the gauge refresh rate is pretty good while still being FPS friendly!Jim

>Can anyone tell me what the lanyards are for from the center>window post down to the panel?Hmmmmm. To make sure the compass doesn't swivel too far to the left or right when doing 'aerobatic' manuevers? :-lolHey, you never know, my guess might not be too far off the mark! It'll be interesting to hear the real answer.Cheers,Jim
