June 24, 201213 yr No, not me, brother. I was smart and took a look first. Anytown USA, Juneau Another Anytown USA, Anchorage Bet these guys get a lot of business. Crowded, crowded Lake Hood Too many people in Alaska, Isn't this supposed to be the Last Wilderness? If Google Street View has gone there, then it's not for me! But, what about the places where there isn't a Street View? Fire Island Airport Now, I'm starting to like it. And this place is really nice - Talachulitna River Airport OK, now we're talking. This is getting much better. And Shishmaref Airport Wow! Is that snow? Alright, sign me up. I'm going to Alaska after all. Just don't send me on any Aerocache Hunts in Anytown USA. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 24, 201213 yr Nice presentation, Luis. You know, even crowded Alaska ain't half-bad. I vacationed in Anchorage a few times and hung out around Lake Hood to watch the floatplane activity. When I came upon an Aeronca Champ parked next to a 7-11 store, I knew I wasn't in the Lower 48 anymore! John
June 24, 201213 yr I flew out of Lake Hood 1/2 a dozen times and also out of Merrill Field. Lots of places to fly to within and hour or two. Beautiful and unusual scenery. I flew over a glacier twice, and that is an experience you will also remember.
