Realair Lancair spinner painting

Featured Replies

Straight to the point, how do you do it? The paint I'm working on at the moment calls for a white spinner but the Lancair comes with a chrome one as standard. I've have a rummage around but can't find the texture that deals with it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't own the plane so I can't be specific, but I would look at the Alpha first.

A chrome spinner will have a very dark alpha.

There's nothing in the main textures to denote a spinner, but there is a whole bunch of textures in a fallback folder. Nothing has spinner written on it though.

RASLegacy_Spinner.dds and RASLegacy_Spinner_Spec.dds hiding in the Texture folder. Actual "Texture", not Texture.something ;) Copy that one to folder with your repaint and paint that one, it should work (didn't try that though...)

Cheers, George.

That's a case of not seeing the wood for the trees! It was a bit like taking a hammer and chisel to it, but it worked. Many thanks George.
