Several different crashes

I have recently purchased a new computer and it runs FSX great! Bad news is, it crashes almost every flight I try at random times. I have researched and have tried the UIAutomationCore.dll fix. This is extremely frustrating. Maybe yall can help. Here are some of the recent logs:

Visualfx.dll runs your .fx files in the Effects folder. You evidently just installed something that FSX does not like, an old aircraft or scenery. If it's missing a texture, it will cause this crash. MSVCRT.dll is part of the Microsoft Visuals C++ Redistributables program. It is important that you have the 2005 Redistributable installed. FSX addons may also use 2008 and 2010 redistributables. This program is used by developers to install their product properly.

The exception code 0xc0000005 means you had a memory_access_violation when msvcrt.dll was being called by FSX.

Make sure your virtual memory settings are set to system managed size (click on the Start button and in the search bar, type virtual memory then look up and click on How to Change Virtual Memory Settings).

If you just installed a new addon, uninstall it and see if the problem goes away.

Jim

Thanks Jim.

It has mainly been the PMDG MD-11 doing the crashing but it is always an hour or so into the flight. I just find it odd how random the crashes are.

Just did a fresh reinstall of FSX and only put the PMDG MD-11 in. Flew on VATSIM and as soon as I rotated, I received the same crash. I'm completely clueless!

There have been a lot of issues with simconnect and VATSIM. Make sure simconnect is properly installed. It was updated in SP2 and Acceleration. Do a Google search for "simconnect and VATSIM" and you'll see discussions regarding this.

Here is a photo of the framework I have installed...Does this look okay?

@CitationGuy:

Here are the tools needed to check up on your DotNet installs: 1). A cleanup tool - to remove all DotNet components cleanly, so that you can re-install them: 2). A version checking tool - find out which versions and service packs of the .NET runtime are installed: and 3). A verification checker - to test the installation state of all Framework versions on the pc. It will also test that the applications that use .Net Framework can be run correctly.

Just click on each link and save it to its own folder inside a "DotNet Tools" folder, unpack them and run as you need.

Those are great tools Paul! Thanks for posting them!

Great tools from Paul. They should pin that post. Very helpful stuff.

Paul, followed your directions but not sure if that worked. When I did the cleanup all of the Microsoft Visuals C++ Redistributables are still showing in add/remove programs. Any suggestions?

I hope you didn't uninstall any. They are needed from 2005 to 2010, especially MSV 2005 with SP1. I don't see where Paul gave you the advice to cleanup the Microsoft Visuals. His tools were for Microsoft.net Version 1 through Version 4. It appears you are missing some MSV's. Here are the ones installed on my system.

I have not deleted any MSV. Should I just download everything I don't have that is on your computer? I wonder if there is something out there that will check my PC for MSV that I do not have and may need?

You can if you want but I would focus my attention on the 2005 Redistributables. In the picture above it does not show the SP1 to the 2005 Redistributable. That version is 8.0.58299 and it can be found at this link: http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067 (I installed the update after I posted that picture in another forum a month or two ago). As I stated, Microsoft Visuals (MSV) are normally installed on your system if the product (FSX/Acceleration or another addon) does not find the MSV. Microsoft Visuals tell the program how to install the product on your system. They are not backward compatible so you just can't have the 2010 Redistributable. I probably have a lot more redistributables as I have a lot of other software programs installed that may use the later versions of the Redistributables. A person may not have the 2005 Redistributables installed as some want to clean up their system and delete older versions. I know of one individual who did this and he immediately began having problems with FSX (I think he also got rid of all of his 32 bit versions and kept the 64 bit versions thinking that's the thing to do for a 64 bit Operating System. Instead, FSX is a 32 bit program and requires the 32 bit versions of both the MSV's and Versions 1 through 4 of the Microsoft.net framework software. Here's a link to the 2010 Redistributable and, if you look at the bottom, you'll see links to the other MSV's - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555.

Still crashing after a complete restore and have not used any addons. Every flight I still get msvcrt.dll errors. Is there anybody I can call to see about this? I spent so much money on this computer and have not been able to play the sim at all!
