July 23, 201213 yr Author Have you followed all of the recommendations in the introducton documentation? If you have a nvidia card, have you follow Ryan's tweaking guide in the general forum? As mentioned 30FPS-32FPS is all you need. This one? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/
July 23, 201213 yr 1680x1050 is my resolution, is that 16:9 ? I think so...Not positive though... Might want to Google that one. I think 21" and 23" widescreen monitors are 16:9, and 24" widescreen monitors are 16:10. I know that resolutions like 1024x768 and 1600x1200 for example are 4:3. Also a big tip here... Make sure that you backed up your FSX.cfg file at least twice(for good measure) before attempting to modify it. you'll shake your head with frustration if you made changes that totally screw up your flightsim and you can't remember what changes you made. Back it up if you haven't already. And I get the “skeleton airplane” thing too when flying online. I think it's just the massive amount of polygons that is trying to load at once is too much for the RAM to load. You have fast RAM, so I don't think you will see much of that. I use to get a lot of this when flying FSX with the PMDG 747X in Windows XP. Only having 4GB of RAM was a killer for me and I use to get the "Out of Memory" crashes. But many others had no issues like that. Maybe they had their CFG tweaked like you mentioned to have it run better. I will have to try those myself to see... Thanks ----------------------------- Steven Bond

July 23, 201213 yr This one? http://forum.avsim.n...f-all-settings/ Yes, the introduction pdf is in NGX program menu or go to the NGX documentation directory. George Morris
July 23, 201213 yr Author Ok ive done the Bojote tool now, think i got a few extra fps, but not sure. Nothing major anyway. Im still at 27-31 fps in the air. My biggest worry now however is if the NGX works properly. I didnt run it as admin when i installed. Any way to tell if something is missing?
July 23, 201213 yr If your running vista or higher it is highly recommended to install as Admin. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling. George Morris

July 24, 201213 yr I think that if something didn't get installed properly, you would notice that something was wrong. Ok, I am home now and at my gaming rig and can help you with the refresh rate for the displays. I've noticed a difference with this one. Maybe you will get a frame increase too. In the NGX, pull up your CDU by either clicking on it in the VC or in the main menu (Views --> Instrument Panel --> CDU (left)) With the CDU open click on the button on the Right side for "PMDG Setup". Next Click "Options" on the left side. And then on "Performance" on the Left On the Performance Tuning you will see what's called "FPS Limit". This is where you can speed up or slow down your frame rate of the displays on your dash. I can't remember what the defaults were, but I have all those eight settings at "15", meaning 15fps. I didn't notice a difference in the way the displays behaved, but I noticed a difference in performance. To set it, just input 15 or what number you would like in the keypad at the bottom and then click the button beside the display you'd like to change. You can even disable the First Officers displays if you wish. But I find that a little more extreme. Give that a try and let me know how it works for you. I hope it helps you get a bit more out of your system. Good luck. ^_^ ----------------------------- Steven Bond

Ok ive reinstalled it but have a question; when i launch the NGX now in the FSX menu nothing pops up(when i need to accept the software etc), does this happen because i already did it on the last installation and FSX 'remembers' ??? Will this work properly??
