Gulfstream V

Hi, ZZ.I should have been more clear that only the first paragraph of my post was in reply to you, specifically the "What exactly do you folks expect me to do or say here?" part of your own post. The rest was just an exasperated commentary on the overall state of things. I didn't intend to single you, or anyone else out for that matter. If that was perceived, you have my complete apology. :)

Gulfstream Update almost done. I know Jim wanted to do it but I couldn't resist seeing we won't be seeing one from Eaglesoft in awhile. Everything is almost done except for resizing the gauges in the cockpit and ironing out why the plane doesn't handle spoilers being deployed in flight very well. Contact points is still not quite right as I noticed during landing that I got tire smoke before the wheels even touched the ground. I think I might let Jim figure that out since he was the first one to step up to the plate for the challenge... Maybe the guys at Eaglesoft can offer some guidance and/or help in updating the VC cockpit lighting. Other than that we all will soon have an FS2k4 Gulfstream sooner than I even thought...Mike Stone's FDE works very well with this older model I might add. I had to do a few tweaks here and there but for the most part I love his FDE.. JohnCI and Jim (OneTinSoldier), you guys will need to get the files from me to make sure this thing flies on the numbers. Also you guys can clean up anything I forgot or left out in the FDE...Tom van der Elst, can you do some repaints for this bird???Thanks...

Meh, my philosophy is simple: I suck at VC's and haven't time to do them, so I don't, and if people don't like it, they're free to look somewhere else. I enjoy things as I make them and accept that not everyone else does.Though really, since my aircraft are purpose-designed for VA use, adding VC's would be pretty dumb and would just irritate fleet managers anyway...and there's no way I'm exporting multiple versions of a model if it's unnecessary. Will I include VC's on a few aircraft in the future? Maybe. Is the probability high? No. :-hahOh, to add...references for VC's are basically impossible to come by if you're a bottom-of-the-ladder freeware guy like me. We take what we can get, and I can't get a lot. A lot of the two VC's I AM working on is pure guesswork. Why? Because that's all I can do.

I say don't let people discourage you. If a wuss like me can hold out against the "It-has-no-VC-it's-crap" crowd (not saying anyone here is part of that crowd, but it definitely DOES exist), I think most can.Just ignore everyone, or insult back twice as hard...that's what I do. :-hah

>I think you may be the one who's clueless on the>basics of how to mix and match panels with models/sounds etc. >Go try it for yourself and let us all know what you find...Guess what, genius? I already replaced it with the Lear 45 long before I posted. What's your point? Are you implying that it's difficult to copy and paste a panel from one aircraft to another? And I'm not letting "us" know what I find, I'm letting YOU know what I already have done many times. (I just saw this ridiculous response by "dll.")

I completely understand and accept the decision not to do VCs. You're entitled to design your planes however you choose. I've got several of yours too and they are very good. I do miss the VC, but thats a personal preferance of mine and not a flaw or defect in your work in any way. I've just gotten so used to having a VC that when I switch to that view and find theres no parts of airplane around me it kinda kills the suspension of disbelief for me. But again, that's not in any way a critique of the planes themselves. I don't really care if the VC is dynamic, nor do I worry all that much about how accurate it is. I just like to be able to pan around and sight-see and its more involving if theres some cockpit around me. :)
