July 28, 201213 yr Yes, FSX has a repair function too but the OP needs to make sure he 'repairs' any FSX SP or Acceleration too (some people do forget that and crashes continue...). I know the repairs replace the fsx.cfg and the scenery.cfg back to default, but not sure about the dll.xml or exe.xml. Pretty sure those are returned to default files too. He may still have to do a 'repair' of the PMDG747 and any other addon that puts an item in the dll.xml but at least it should fix the immediate problem with crashes. Best regards, Jim
July 29, 201213 yr Cheers Jim, I just hope he can sort it... July 29, 201213 yr Author Hi, I've repaired the PMDG 747 with the 747.exe file, but no changes By the way, I've noticed a problem : Subsequently to the creation of a new fsx.cfg, the free flight which appears when I launch FSX isn't my default flight with cessna 172/Seattle, but a default flight of Microsoft, with an Aircreation ULM Tricycle/Friday harbor. The problem is that I've deleted this airplane, with some others I know I would not use, a day I was looking for some more place on my HDD ! It's certainly the reason why the ulm doesn't move in the free flight screen, and why I can't change the airplane. As this ulm has definitly disappeared, how can I change the default flight, or find a new file of this ulm ?
July 29, 201213 yr In a earlier post you said that FSX would lock up when you were in the free flight screen. You are able to see that now without it locking up? If that is the case can you now fly the DEFAULT free flight in the trike? If you can then you are good to go and all you then need to do if you dont want that a the default flight is to just make a new one. Jim Wenham
July 29, 201213 yr Author No, I can't fly the free flght because the free flight screen freezes after a while, or when I press the Start button, like previously. I've noticed that the default flight was changed in the free flight screen, but I didn't pay attention to that. Now, I'm quite sure that changing the fsx.cfg file would have fixed my problem, except that the default flight can't be launched because the plane (the ulm) is deleted !!

Well.... unless somebody has a trick to add back the deleted plane I think using the FSX repair may be the way to go. Not sure how that will play with any other addons but it may be your only choice. July 29, 201213 yr Author I'll wait till tomorrow to see if it's possible to get the plane back, if not, I'll try to repair with the FSX DVD, even if my last try with it, a few monthes ago, was a failure
July 30, 201213 yr Author I've tried once again to repair FSX but without any success, so I've decided to uninstall then reinstall everything. The weather being so sad, it's now or never, watching Olympics games. Thanks to all Pierre Boileau
