October 29, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member Can't a guy get some sleep around here? HAHAHAHA Ok Dirk, here are the pics. This is just the H100, as I have not installed the H80 on the GPU "yet". As you can see, the radiator is bolted to the top of the case and the fans are on the outside, in a pull config. Cold air is sucked in from the bottom/side of the case and comes out through the top. Hope this helps! Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️
October 29, 201213 yr BimmerCop, very interesting. Your placement is way different from what I was thinking. You really need enough air pressure inside that box to blow the radiator through. Could you please post a picture of the box's bottom? Do you have a large front blower, or air is coming from the bottom and door fans only? I have some excessive pressure inside my Cooler Master, which is not good for the current air cooling, but it will be good for H100 with your configuration. I understand the 3rd blower on the top is just extra, the first 2 should cover the radiator completely. What is your box model? I can see the top of the box is all perforated, which may be problematic to find. Thanks, Dirk.

Mine is the Coolermaster Cosmos S and it has a huge 200mm on the side panel which pushes cold air into the case. The fans on top of the radiator pull air out of the case, as well as the fan on the rear just above the CPU. This fan also pulls air out of the case. Airflow is perfect throughout the case. Basically, it pushes cold air into the case from the side and pulls it out through the top and rear. Regards, Efrain RuizLiveDISPATCH @ http://www.livedispatch.org (CLOSED) ☹️
October 31, 201213 yr Hi Dirk, I've just recently built a new system based on the i7 3770K and using the Corsair H100 for CPU cooling. I'm running the CPU at 4.6GHz without any problem or cooling issues, even when running prime95 for an extended period. I might be able to go up to 4.9GHz, although for now, with a EVGA GTX670, FSX is running very nicely at 4.6GHz. As far as the H100 goes and mounting it, may I suggest that you look at a decent Corsair case. I have a white 600T, which I'm more than happy with right now, although the Obsidian 650D might have been a better choice if I never wanted to go for a white case. Basically, the Corsair cases are perfect choices if you want to install the H100 in the roof, where most people tend to put it in. All the correct holes are there as well as the correct type of mesh or perforation that you speak of. The build quiality of the Corsair cases is good compard to many others out there, although I would have to say it's not the best. The last bit of advise that I can give you, if you are considering getting the H100, is buy other fans. The standard Corsair branded fans that come in the box are really awesome fans that provide the best cooling for the radiator, but they are just too loud. As far as showcasing what the water cooler can do, they work very well and you really won't find better static pressure fans, but I went and got 2 Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition fans which are fited to the radiator in a pull config and the temps never increased all that much, maybe a couple of degrees celcius, but that's it. As far as the noise tradeoff, well worth it. I also have the H100 pump on full speed all of the time and have my fans of a fan controller, which I adjust as required. Hope that helps mate! Regards, Steve Knight
November 1, 201213 yr SteveK, Obsidian 650D looks like the perfect choice for me. Also, for what it matters, it's a midtower and I was reluctant about assembling the full tower. But what bothers me a little in 650D is it seems there's no blower intended on the side (left) door. And I'm not sure if it is good for the temperature inside, at least I'm used to that. What exactly is "a pull config"? Is it similar to BimmerCop's 3 fans ontop pulling the air from the box through H100's radiator below them upwards? To some reason I believe the fans should be placed under the radiator and blow the air from the box through the radiator upwards, I think, it might be more efficient. I appreciate your comments. Many thanks, Dirk. PS: I understand you did not de-lid your i7 3770K?
November 1, 201213 yr I'm considering Corsair Vengrance C70 and Corsair 300R. Even though the latter is cheaper it showed the best air flow inside (-3 to -5 degrees C) compared to other models. They both have side doors and more important both have the top compatible with H100. Maybe Vengrance C70 yet. Thanks for the ideas. Dirk. PS: Corsair 300R "Won't fit. Not practically. Maybe with some modding, but generally no. You'd need the 400r or 500r sticking with the series". PSS: I should look into push-pull configuration, well, maybe not
December 16, 201213 yr Hi BimmerCop, do you still run your FSX @ 5Ghz on Corsair H100 cooler? So what is your conclusion about H100 cooler after all this time? And there is a newer version H100i available. Thanks, Dirk.

NONE at 30cm and the experience is unreal with photoreal Bing maps at that resolution. As for the H100, it's simply awesome. No complaints whatsoever. - Sent from my rooted, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE smartphone via Tapatalk because haters gonna hate. January 18, 201313 yr Alright guys, I have de-lidded the 3770K, lapped the H100's cpu block and used TIM in this sequence: CPU DIE>>>MX-4>>>IHS>>>MX-4>>>H100 As a note for all H100 users, LAPPING IS A MUST!!!! The block has a horrific coarse finish to it and once you lap it, it will have a nice, mirror like finish, just like the cpu die has. I cannot stress this enough. BimmerCop, when lapping the block how did you handle those 2 hoses on it? Did you hold the whole thing with the radiator in your hands while lapping? I have H100i here, the block and connections must be the same. Much thanks, Dirk.

It's very cumbersome due to the 2 hoses and you just have to take your time and find a way to do it without putting too much stress on them. My radiator laid flat on the table and I simply slid it gently back and forth. Yup, that's what she said.
