June 16, 200421 yr Can anyone comment on this, either the MX edition or the express version? What is exactly changed from the standard FS9 looks?
June 16, 200421 yr OMG! Just download it! MANY textures are improved, such as airport buildings (with pseudo-reflective windows) and taxiways/runways. It's small, but like the say... The express version has smaller taxiway and runway textures, I think...might help the frame rate challenged.Make a backup of your existing textures, if you don't like it or it hits to hard in the frames dept., switch back!I recommend it highly. June 16, 200421 yr Hi,I use his latest and greatest... AEU6.zipI get a little micropause when I'm panning my view and an airport comes into view. If there's a few airports around then that means I get a few micropauses if I keep panning my view. YMMV. Anyway, it is only a slight micropause and I feel it is well worth what the upgrade does for the airports. I agree, get it!Cheers,JimIntel 3.4C(C = Northwood) on Asus P4C800-E Deluxe, 1 GB Muskin '222' Special PC3200 RAM, NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 22" Monitor, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Videocard with v4.6 Catalyst Drivers, DirectX 9.0b, Creative Audigy2 Soundcard, 250 GB w/8 MB Cache Western Digital HDD, WinXP Pro SP1
June 16, 200421 yr i sincerely appreciate the vision and the skill. alas, i was forced back to the previous version by noticeable performance issues. also, the runway surface and the yellow lines looked quite like my real airport (CYTZ) before, not so in the latest version. try this package by all means: visually, it's a feast! however, look for the older version as well, if only for comparison.
June 16, 200421 yr Commercial Member I had pretty major stutters with the v.6 one, went back to the one before that and it works fine! Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
June 17, 200421 yr Just to set the record straight.AEU_MX.zip is (version 5) I billed it as the "Master's Edition" because it was the first high-detail version of AEU. AEU_EX.zip is the "express" version of MX. This version includes smaller textures, and some color modifications.AEU6.zip is the newest (version 6) And is the only one with the reflective window effects. Both MX and 6 are unique and offer different qualities for the user. Thanks everyone. :)
June 17, 200421 yr Very Highly reccomended from me, it is a must in order to add that certain realistic fealing as you depart and arrive at the airports. http://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssigsmall.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying. June 17, 200421 yr I tweaked my max texture load number in the fs9.cfg file and I can now run the AEU6 without any framerate hits. WOW what an add-on!! Everything just looks beautiful
June 18, 200421 yr Hmmm, can you please tell us more abou that tip? I only tweak the bandwidth multiplier so far.Best,Joel
June 18, 200421 yr my mistake, it is the bandwidth multiplier number. I also used the tweaks suggested in this thread http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=25&mode=full
