FSX default KMEM highways and traffic running through

Featured Replies

This is a new install on a new rebuild. I have traffic and highways running through KMEM default airport. This is a screenshot of the default KMEM airport. I have GEX AFME, GEX ATP, GEX Europe, GEX North America, UTX Canada, UTX Europe, UTX USA, UTX Europe, Scenery Tech North America, South America, Europe, FSG mesh, FSDT JFK, O’Hare, Zurich, Blue Print Indianapolis, Fly Tampa TNCM installed. I had installed the by Ray Smith FSX_kmem_ade_rs dated 2009-12-17. I don’t remember if it had the traffic in it or not. Just recently Mr. Smith has updated his KMEM afcad. In the instructions it says to Install “If you are using my earlier version please remove/delete this files first or overwrite them.” I over wrote them. I put the KMEM_ADE_CW_RS.BGL and the KMEM_ADE_CVX.BGL in the Addon Scenery/KMEM –Memphis Tennessee Smith/scenery file. Then as instructed I put the KMEM_OBJ.BGL file into FSX/Scenery/Global/scenery file. I went to settings, scenery library and activated the scenery. I got the traffic as is seen in the screenshot in his afcad. So I removed the scenery from the scenery library, removed the file from the addon scenery, removed the obj.bgl from global scenery, shut down fsx and rebooted the computer. Reran FSX which is the default and same traffic. I looked at all the files in the scenery/global/scenery folder. Only fsx initial install bgl’s, I checked the addon scenery/scenery folder and again only the initial fsx install files. How do I find the problem? Thank you for any help you can give.

Sincerely

There is a tunnel that runs underneath one of KMEM's runways...

There is nothing wrong with Ray Smith's KMEM Airport. His readme states it is for the default FSX. You have added many payware addons that changes the default FSX.

The Freeway Traffic and roads you are seeing are produced by UTX. UTX says

If you like the look of the moving road traffic in FSX, you will love the moving traffic in Ultimate Terrain X. Ultimate Terrain X greatly expands the moving traffic coverage areas in FSX.

Moving traffic includes crossing runways and taxiways at various airports around the world.

The default FSX stops the traffic from crossing the runways at KMEM at the tunnel entrance.

hope this helps

The addon scenery folder is added to the scenery library by default. You do not need to activate it. Maybe that is your issue.

Thank you for your replies. I did not know that the freeway ran under the runways. Jim, I did not think that their was anything wrong with Ray Smiths KMEM airport, since it occured in the default airport. His afcad is really great and the traffic is exactly as the default. I thought that I had an errant file somewhere that was causing the problem. I guess it turns out that I did, only not what I expected. I did not realize that UTX would put traffic in airports over afcads. Is their a way, other than disabling UTX, to fix the traffic problem I see?

Thank you,
