UK OS

Featured Replies

I have a UK Version of Windows 7.

This means it does not come with the Windows Recogniser 8.0 English - US and only Windows Recogniser 8.0 English - UK.

What should i do because The Voice Recogniser in FS2Crew Won't initialise and so does not work.

UK is not a problem. About 1/4 of my customers are from Britain.

You'll need to set your Speech Recognizer to "English - US".. the option will be there, even on UK systems.

This is no problem and the FS2Crew manual shows how to do it.

Best,

You don't get it. It doesn't even come with Speech Recogniser English US. Only Windows Speech Recogniser English UK

There is no option.

Hi Cori,

Windows 8 hasn't been released yet, unless you're a Technet or MSDN subscriber.

Are you using the RTM version of Windows 8?

I'm guessing you may have to download the "English - US" language pack via Windows Update to make that selection available in Win 8.

I don't have Win 8 installed yet.

Please let me know.

Yeah thats me. I have MSDN. I got it the day it came out to MSDN subscribers.

I seems that in October when they do release it on Disk to the public in the UK there won't be a Recogniser US only the UK version which may cause a few problems.

Windows Update isn't the Same.

I've downloaded the Language pack .ISO but Microsoft doesn't give a installation guide. I have tried.

I installed Windows 8 RTM today off Technet.

It's not bad, not as horrible as everyone makes it out to be.

The genius in Win 8 is that anyone, regardless of version, can set their Speech Recognizer to English - US.

This is great news for our customers, especially the non-Anglo ones.

Here's how to do it:

http://blogs.msdn.co...al-support.aspx

Just click on the "English" box to expand it, and you'll get all the regional English options, such as UK, US, IE, etc.
