FSX CFG FILE REFRESH

Featured Replies

1. Move FSX.cfg to a save place (as a backup, just in case) so it's really gone from the FSX directory

2. Restart FSX (it will create a new cfg right away)

3. Click Yes when FSX asks you if you want to use dll's from addons and also when FSX asks you if you want them to be added to the cfg as trusted dll's

4. Change all FSX settings to your liking

That's it. And if you don't use a lot of tweaks, you could simply delete the cfg. No reboot required.

Since his cfg is corrupted, I don't think he'll need that backup. Just delete it.

Ok, well it hasnt gone well at all !! here is what I did;

1/ Backed up FSX CFG and FSX CFG Text Document to an external HD, checked they were there, OK Disconected external HD.

2/ Deleted both FSX CFG files. (emptied re cycle bin)

3/ Re started FSX, clicked yes to everything

4/ Re set my settings preferences

5/ Clicked on "Free Flight" and half of the default planes and most of my add ons have dispeared !!??

6/ Re booted system ....... same thing !

7/ Checked if new CFG file is there .... it is.

8/ All my missing planes are still there in the "Simobjects" folder but not loading ?

Any ideas on how to correct this ?

When you are in the aircraft selection page, check "show all variations".
