August 28, 201213 yr Hello, since the S-Turn-problems with PMDG-Planes are well known, some questions come to my mind on how FSUIPC works with weather engines such as Active Sky series. For example: to solve the s-turn-issue we are advised to suppress wind turbulence, gusts and variance in FSUIPC. Active Sky also provides a slider where wind turbulence maximum strengh can be set. I have read that AS uses Simconnect and not FSUIPC, so I am a bit confused about how they work together: for example: does deactivating wind turbulence effects in FSUIPC suppress ALL wind turbulence effects in FSX weather or only the ones simulated by FSUIPC? I know that turbulence effects are still there when suppressing them in FSUIPC settings, but I cannot tell for sure wether they are from wind or not. ;) please help me understand that. thx ;)
August 28, 201213 yr Hi there. I had a lot of issues with this. There is a very good thread in the pmdg forums if you search for the"theweather settings" they actually give you what to change in fsuipc, ase and fsx Link http://forum.avsim.net/topic/350389-my-weather-config-for-pmdg-planes-part-ii/ Sent from my GT-P5100 using Tapatalk 2 Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
August 28, 201213 yr All SimConnect does is act as connection between AS and FSX if you are running AS from a client ( installed on another computer on your network). I believe this would be equivalent to WideFS but the difference is that WideFS is payware and SimConnect free. I'm really grateful that AS2012 came with SimConnect support. FSUIPC is what you need to look into to fix your issue.
