>Maybe this will be good or bad - I don't know. But one thing I highly suspect - is that this increase in complexity and quality , while generally praised right now as being good, may someday be a little regretted by us.

Just to let you know Bill our updated freeware GV is ready to roll out the hanger. We're just waiting on the repaints... The Gulfstream is something all of us really want done right. I hope you guys end up doing one. It may have to be the older IV but that would be awesome just the same...My fingers are crossed for you guys at Eaglesoft... Until then me, Tom Van Der Elst, and OneTinSolder have something really special planned while we wait... :-wave

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Don't worry Bill, it was not directed to you at all (re: radar) but was a more general comment about as technology, and knowledge, evolve in this flight sim world, what could be considered impossible to do today may well be feasible tomorrow, and probably not a so distant tomorow! You are right, EVS is another story than radar in terms of software technology in the FS world though! This is simply amazing!Jean-Luc

Amazing, and possible. Stay tuned.

That's not entirely true. It is possible to turn out a fairly complex aircraft quickly by yourself if you know how to do it all - but that's not something many are willing to do (myself included). I made the DC-9-10 through -50 in a little less than 3 weeks, and painted them the fourth week, mind you, at the time I had no distractions at all as I was offline and living in the middle of nowhere, but it is possible.I agree that sometimes the standards being set are a b*tch to adhere to. Nowadays everyone expects a fully detailed DVC - well, some of us really can't deliver that. I'm trying, but not doing too well. FDE's are extremely hard to come by if you can't do them yourself (something I'd like to learn), and painting - has its own set of challenges.I agree that pushing the limits is always a necessity - but I like to push them in different ways. Instead of seeing how many polygons FS can handle, I want to see how much detail I can get in as few as possible - I want to see what new anmations we can bring into the sim, what possibilities FS2004 still has hidden away deep in its programming. I want to be able to get the highest resolution possible out of every single texture with as many parts in one as possible so that the planes can run better - fewer textures is better. I'm always looking for the best texture layout for painters to work with, so that painting isn't such a chore.I really wish more people thought that way. So many addons go into the recycle bin because so few think of performance above all. It's a shame.Oh, and Peter! How are things? You're one of the few I remember from the 'old days' when I first started here. Cheers!
