Autothrottle with one engine lost

Featured Replies

Is it a bug or why it is not possible to re-engage the AT after one engine is lost ?

When I simulate engine failure after start and disengage the AT for a while,

later its not possible to re-engage it again. :(

Both thrust levers are in the same, parallel postion....

PF may disconnect AT.

engine off : thrust lever to retard, then fuel lever start cutoff.

autothrottle should not be used with one engine inoperative ... seems you get your answer ....

I got this before too and I thought, although it says you shouldn't use it, that it would still be possible to re-engage it. I saw the guy in this video re-engage it at a later point

depending certainly on the ops and SOP.

should not be used is not meaning you cant use but it s better not.

did you try in the same conditions as on the video?

Do not believe the autothrottle will engage with only one engine

The Autothrottlle system is not able to re-engage when there is a thrust differential of 2000 pounds or when there is a thrust lever split of more than 10 degrees between both engine's.

Regarding that video - don't hit the TOGA button like that. You push them up with your hand on top and then hit the TOGA button from there.
