Support for Quality Wings Bae 146/Avro

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Wondering if Mr FS++ can answer - will he please add support for the Quality Wings 146 collection?

At first glance it appears the default FSX heading and altitude works, but these are overridden when using LNAV/VNAV. It probably uses the FSX values internally to control the plane. So at the moment we can only use it if we are in HDG mode

Normally with LNAV/VNAV on you can still bug a heading or altitude for future use, and you can if you use the VC MCP (but not with MCE), it stores a separate heading/alt/IAS. We just need Mr FS++ to do some C++ to link that :)

Even if it's a limited support (MCP only), the ability to control the MCP helps alot with the workload, since it can take a long time sometimes to set a heading.. the MCP controls are a bit slow on this plane. In the meantime Radar contact ATC is screaming at me for being too slow to react lol.

Many thanks

Maybe if you can float the idea on the Quality Wings forum...things might happen. We won't be pestering the devs for an SDK or anything like that.

If there is enough interest, we will consider it for 2012.

Thanks to years spent developing the powerful fsInsider.dll FS module, we are now in a position to interface pretty much any aircraft, with or without SDK.

And if we start doing it, it will be more than just the MCP.

It's all about priorities though.

Plenty of other aircraft on the "to do" list right now.

Thanks Gerald, glad to hear an SDK is not needed.

I've made a post in the QW private forum, pilots hangar. Will check back there later to see if anyone is interested in using MCE with this plane.

Curious are you able to share what's in the pipeline? I heard the A300 is, but would it also include the Flight1 Mustang and the Captainsim classics (Boeing 707 & 727)?

Cheers

Count me in. I've already suggested it up above in the sticky. Will put my support in over at QW.

This one must be a contender :P

Kind Regards

Simon.

I'll be glad to have it compatible with MCE. i do not own the Avro's yet, but digging via the provided doc's gives me the impression it is worth...

Besides a quick flight in the Legacy yesterday, I have not flown anything else since I bought it

Same here. I'm enjoying the learning experience with it and the systems are just at the right level for me. Not overly complex but requires some study.

Plus i've been waiting for a regional jet to come along and this bird suits nicely.

Kind Regards

Simon.

There is a few responses over there, I'm not sure if you're a licensed owner though to see them. There is interest, but it's not a million screaming fans unfortunately. Our F/O is not a rockstar yet

Aerosoft Airbus X Extended should be next.

Not sure how many takers out there for Captain Sim 707 & 727

Captain Sim 777 more likely to happen right after the Airbus X. Assuming it reaches V1.0 within 2 or 3 months.

Either QW 757 or BAe 146 could be done, just not sure when to proceed.

Cool hopefully the Bae, it's a big step up from the 757 so I think most of the 757 flyers have moved over to flyin it instead.

On the Simcheck A300, can we get a list of voice commands available as well?

For captainsim 777 I would be interested to see what people are flying the most when PMDG releases their version, and if it gets released before 1.0 or not. There might be some people making the switch, but only time will tell

Cheers
