Featured Replies

hello,

I' have some problems with the rebuild scenery!

I' have installed the scenery of Amsterdam ( aerosoft ), but when I run the rebuild scenery I still have the old runways of eham.

I'm also had download the new makerwys, but the problem is still there!

I hope there is someone with a solution for me, because I'm a happy radar contact user!

I have windows 7 and fs 2004.

There must be another layer, above the scenery you just installed, which is overriding the Aerosoft one. I use Aerosoft EHAM with no problems. Maybe it is a MyTraiffc BGL or some other you've installed?

Search in the Runways.TXT file (in the FS modules folder) for the last entry for EHAM, and check that the file it refers to in one in your Aerosoft EHAM folders.

Sorry, main FS folder. I get so used to referring to the Modules folder for FSUIPC-related things it's a force of habit!

If FS and RC are on the same pc, then run the RC scenery rebuild insuring you put in the correct path to your FS folder.

If RC is on a client pc to an FS host pc, then run makerwys.exe first directly in your FS folder and then run RC's scenery rebuild giving the network path to your FS folder.

Elaborating on Pete's comment on runways.txt, that is a huge file in your FS folder. You'll need word or wordpad to search it. To check EHAM your search term will be "airport EHAM" no quotes.

Each section will have a path to the scenery folder at the section head. Default scenery has just one section regarding runway data, etc. Add-on scenery wil have a pair of sections usually in order. The first has deletion statements and the second has the runways and other airport data. The last occurrence of a section of runway data for that airport has priority and should point to your EHAM scenery. You can look for the new runway in that data as well. The scenery priority is set by your position in your scenery library settings (lower numbers at the list top have priority).

Be sure any .bgl files (outside of the APxxxx.bgl default) regarding EHAM not pointing to the Aerosoft folders are renamed to extension .bgh to make them ineffective and then run FS to reindex it, close FS, and run again the RC scenery rebuild process.

Be sure to restart RC after running the scenery rebuild.

To insure data was copied to the RC\data folder by the process right click in that folder on r4.csv (a copy of r5.csv in your FS folder) and check the date-time modified stamp to insure it is consistent with the time of the rebuild process.

Hello Ronzie,

What I fill in in the FS path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games

Is this all I must fill in or is there something more to fill in?

When I rightclick the r4.csv file in the RC data map, I see the date-time is not changed in the new rebuild time-date

Only the a4.csv end c4.csv changed in the new date-time!

Edwin

Here is the correct entry based on my example h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9

so for you it shoud be:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9

for FS2004.

Only the r4.csv and a4.csv date times change with your rebuild in your RCv4x\data folder with a normal scenery rebuild. I'm not sure why c4.csv date stamp changed. That is a fixed database file unless you modified it manually.

I suggest in your RCV4x folder you create a folder called backups. Then place a copy rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat to it in case RC gets those files corrupted. You can use those backups to avoid a reinstall in certain situations that prevent RC from starting.

If you need a c4.csv file , the file of airline names and radio calls and also aircraft manufacturer names in case it gets corrupted, reply here and I can e-mail it to you if you want to avoid a reinstall.

To check c4.csv for verification without doing any saves open it in wordpad or notepad, not Excel or other spreadsheet\database application. The first few lines should look similar to this:

Hi

I hope somebody still reads this, it's a bit of an older topic.

I had Aerosoft's EHAM disabled for a while and now reactivated it, but RC4 would not give me the right runways.

So reading all the above, I have the right path to FS2004, I rebuild the rcv4 file, all went well, I could see it was reading the Aerosoft folder. But now I have no EHAM at all in RC4???? Loading a flight plan shows now instead of 'EHAM to KPDX' only 'to KPDX' and in the Controller window I see no frequencies and no runways to choose from. I looked up the runway file in the FS9 root directory and see there is no EHAM! But there is a Runway (note the capital R) file with tons of info sorted by layer, which includes EHAM. But now I'm stuck. Can anybody help me here?

Thx

Martin

Please go through that thread.

Make sure you have updated makerwys.exe from:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

Using Wordpad go through the runways.txt file in your FS9 folder. Search on airport EHAM. first will come the default. Search again and you'll come upon a deletion section for EHAM and check the scenery path in that section. Next (not necessarily addjacent) will come a section with runway data, etc. Check that scenery path. Keep searching until the last Airport EHAM. That has priority. Be sure the runway data shows.

Next in the FS9 folder examine r5.csv for EHAM. There should be a line for each EHAM runway. (The r4.csv in FS9 is not used in rvc4 build 3845. the last release.) Look at the date and time of the r5.csv. (right click, proprties, detail). Go into your rcv4/data folder. Repeat the steps for r4.csv and also the date time is very close to the one you checked on r5.csv. Now check the date-time for a4.csv which should be a few seconds later then r5.csv. Browse a4.csv for EHAM information regarding the calculated airport center coordinates and other information.

See if it is all there.
