September 16, 201213 yr This screenshot is taken on 5 August at 15:40, airport YBLT: I just did a clean install of FSX, thinking i did something wrong, but the problem is still there. This happens all over the world, not just in this location. Is this how FSX looks like for you too ? :(
September 17, 201213 yr I'm sorry, But I don't understand the issue your trying to point out. If you can explain it further i'm sure me and many others will be able to offer assistance.

September 17, 201213 yr Author If you look closely where the aircraft is, the ground darkens and then as the time advances it gets brighter, instead of darkening even further. Here is a more explicative image:
September 17, 201213 yr Just out of curiosity: Is this something you can recognise out of your aircraft, or only in top down view? I'm currently in a trip from PANC to PADU (daytime flight), so I won't be able to check this immediately, but I will after I've landed (if weather/visibility in Dutch Harbor allows ) Florian
September 17, 201213 yr Author Yes, i can see this from the virtual cockpit. As the time advances, the ground textures become lighter, just to darken again after a few minutes. I did a reinstall of FSX, maybe i should do a clean install of both OS & FSX. :( Can someone please make a screenshot, in the same location (YBLT) and date & time set to 5 August at 15:40 ?
September 17, 201213 yr Moderator Can someone please make a screenshot, in the same location (YBLT) and date & time set to 5 August at 15:40 ? Here you go. Looks the same on my rig, so I am guessing that's just the way it is. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 17, 201213 yr Author Looks the same on my rig. Did you set the time & date as i said ? Because looking at the picture, it's clearly not taken before dusk, and the season is different also. BTW the ground textures seems fine, in your screenshot, unlike mine.
September 17, 201213 yr Moderator Did you set the time & date as i said ? Yes, exactly. Because looking at the picture, it's clearly not taken before dusk, and the season is different also. Don't know what to say about that. I set it to 5 August at 15:40, which I was assuming you meant 3:40 PM local and not 15:40 GMT which would have been in the middle of the night. I can't help any seasonal variations since it was Aug 5th, so the season was the same as your Aug 5th. Keep in mind, any difference im color banding on the ground, which mine shows a little less of, is due to my monitor calibration done thru the nVidia control panel. I've adjusted the gamma levels and a few other things to try and mask the color banding and make the colors blend a little better. Also, ENB was off in the shot. Also, I took mine without ORBX AU turned on, just the default FSX. Although I do have ORBX AU installed if you want a pic of it. EDIT: I'll try again at 15:40 GMT Aug 5th and see if that looks like yours. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 17, 201213 yr Author Ok, i double checked just to make sure: the screenshot i posted, was indeed taken at 15:40 (3:40 PM) local time, and the date is August 5th, so i don't understand why mine is just before dusk (if you look at the right you can see that it's nighttime), while yours is clearly in the daytime. Maybe you have FS Real Time or something like that ? Anyway... can you please take another screenshot, a few minutes before dusk (in free flight screen, set time to dusk, and set back a few minutes till it's day) ?
September 17, 201213 yr Moderator Maybe you have FS Real Time or something like that ? No, just stock time keeping in FSX. Anyway... can you please take another screenshot, a few minutes before dusk (in free flight screen, set time to dusk, and set back a few minutes till it's day) ? Yes, when I get home I will take another shot a few hours later for you to compare. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

September 17, 201213 yr Author In the future please restrict the size of your uploaded photo to AVSIM to a max of 1600 W. Will do. Bluemantom2, here's one from the same location at Aug 5th 4:50 PM. Yup... so it's another FSX issue. :( Thank you for your trouble. I hope Prepar3d v2.0 will be a big improvement over this @%$@# which is FSX. )
