September 18, 201213 yr It is a shame they are decommisioning them and leaving them in the boneyard. Would be nice if at least one of those 747's could make it to a Museum. I think the interior looks interesting with it's vintage decore. I would pay to see one of them and walk through that part of aviation history. They could have used the empty space in the fuselage to fill with a shuttle lifter exhibit and just remove the wings to save space. September 18, 201213 yr My understanding is that museums kind of compete for the opportunity to grab things like this for their collections, but its kind of hard to think of who would have the room and money for this. Being so much less well known and recognizable, I would guess that its probably more of a curiosity than a star attraction like an actual shuttle? We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. September 18, 201213 yr I just really like 747's and these two were really unique. Hopefully someone does something with one of them. Even just the front 1/3 of the fuselage is good enough for a museum piece, that way the first class section and flight deck are available for display.
