September 25, 201213 yr I have calibrated a button on my throttle quadrant to control the landing gear and now the nice tire snubbing sound isn't working when raising the gear. I've tried it a few times, same issue. Any reason this could be happening? Best CPU: i7-9700KF stable @ 5.0GHz | MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero | GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti @ stock | RAM: G. September 26, 201213 yr This happened to me when using FSUIPC pre-SP1C. After 1C, my issue was solved. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
September 26, 201213 yr Hi Drew, I'll assume that you're not delaying the retraction excessively, thus giving the tire rotation time to come to a stop. Is the button assignment triggering a 'g' keypress or is it directly tied to the FSX gear up/down command? Mark Adeane - NZWN
September 26, 201213 yr Author I assigned it through FSUIPC (I know it's not recommended). It is part of the Angle of Attack training recommendations. As far as I know I'm the only one having problems with this over at AOA. CPU: i7-9700KF stable @ 5.0GHz | MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero | GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti @ stock | RAM: G. September 27, 201213 yr Hmmm, OK. I'd follow Zach's advice in that case and confirm you're on SP1C. If that doesn't resolve it, all I can suggest is that you redefine the command directly in FSX rather than via FSUIPC. Cheers! Mark Adeane - NZWN
September 27, 201213 yr Hmmmm. I think I too have this issue. Forgot about that sound. Don't think I've heard it for awhile. I have everything thing set up through FSUIPC but I can live without the sound if it means using FSX's interface... Steve Giblin
September 28, 201213 yr Author Okay, so I never had the SP1c and that seemed to be the issue. I must have been too busy to download it when it came out. Although, I vaguely remember getting an email from PMDG. All good now CPU: i7-9700KF stable @ 5.0GHz | MOBO: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero | GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti @ stock | RAM: G. September 29, 201213 yr Commercial Member Triggering it directly like that is going to bypass the sound because of the way it's programmed. You have to trigger the normal G key event to hear it. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 29, 201213 yr Triggering it directly like that is going to bypass the sound because of the way it's programmed. You have to trigger the normal G key event to hear it. I'm using the FSUIPC "Gear Up" and "Gear Down" command for two separate buttons. Again, since SP1c, I've had no snubber sound issues. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
September 30, 201213 yr Author Yeah, running mine through FSUIPC also and since upgrading to SP1c the sound has returned.
