They allow torrents here at AVSIM. Might be an idea? I'd prefer a torrent over a download from a website.

Those screenshots look great! I take it the second image posted above is the complete coverage area, and thus the Alps are covered completely?

Speaking outside the boundaries of the "orange tag", I downloaded this. All 13gb of it! While the free release is great, the size is a concern and here's why. There was (past tense, as the developer went out of business) a commercial release for Italy at 5m resolution. The file size(s) were 2.6gb. This free release is FIVE times the size, without the benefits of what the commercial product held.

 

I would strongly urge a review of the SDKs and in particular the use of the "Compression" parameter in the .INF file for a recompile to bring the file sizes down to a more realistic size, which would be 2 to 3 GB. That would also mean less grief from the hosting service about the bandwidth being used.

Your technical analisys could be correct for sure, but I'm afraid the problem come by other reason ...

We just inform all interested users that, as of yesterday, the mail charge for the receipt of the password

for recompactation of files, has been disabled.

Since its publication to date this has counted 169 known users.

The work is still available to absolutely everyone, including documents "support" available.
