July 4, 200421 yr I'm looking for some recommendations for GA airports in the california area. I've looked in the file library but was kind of overwhelmed by the number of files I had to look through and so I thought I might ask you guy's. Are there any airports that you would deem a must have...if so please share.thanks-Mikkel
July 4, 200421 yr Take a look at scenery_usa.zip in the file library, this is a compilation of lots of scenery files...very useful. Might help you out.
July 5, 200421 yr Yes, Shez just released John Wayne Orange County for 2004 and the is a file for Cental California coast airports, like Santa Barbara which is good too.
July 5, 200421 yr Pony,I still would like to request if you have any good pics of the terminal at PSP? I really need pics of the terminal buildings bordering the parking lot. The main round terminal I have already from your previous pic.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
July 5, 200421 yr Hi Shez...Gee, you're ready to go with that? Yikes! I was planning a trip out there say in the next couple of weeks for taking snapshots. Will that timeframe work with you?In the meantime I'll start doing what research I can here. Better get on the horn with the airport as well.
July 6, 200421 yr It is already 75% done! Will post a screenshot later.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
July 6, 200421 yr You're killin' me!!! :D Well, give me a little time to do some research. Will work on contacting the airport to see if they can email me anything. Will do some searching on the web tonight. I will email you wait I can.P.S. - That's great [email protected]
July 6, 200421 yr How about a nice package called "california Central Coast Version 2", here in Avsim lib. You can read review on Avsim.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
July 6, 200421 yr I downloaded this yesterday and it's just what I was looking for. Very nice airports and scenery.-Mikkel
July 6, 200421 yr Mikkel,An airfield I like to fly to and from is Mustang Landing authored by Michael Carr. It's an FS2002 design, but it works great in FS2004. From the readme:Mustang Landing, a small vintage airfield, located just north of Los Angeles, near Camarillo, is the perfect place for vintage-minded pilots. Detailed scenery featuring custom textures, night lighting, vintage hangers, refueling, people and vintage statics, including a hot air balloon and P-51 Mustangs.A couple of threads about it:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchHappy flying,KevinP.S. I used to post as cloudtops, the initial poster in the first link. :)
July 6, 200421 yr Excellent airport. Is there any way to add it to the fs9 ATC? I'm using the FSGenesis mesh and it makes the airport sit in a kind of hole, any solution to raise the airport?-Mikkel

July 7, 200421 yr >Excellent airport. Is there any way to add it to the fs9 ATC?I threw together a quick and dirty AFCAD file for this airport last night to get it on the ATC grid and the GPS and map displays. Sorry, no taxiways and parking to support AI traffic yet, but I may create one of these later and upload it to the library with Mike's blessing. I was so bold as to assume the ICAO code of KMUS for this little beauty and included both a traffic frequency (122.100) and AWOS (127.400). You have starting locations at each end of both runways and a tower view set a few feet above the physical lookout tower. RWY 26L & 26R I designated for a right-hand traffic pattern 1,500 feet above the field elevation due to the terrain off to the east while 8L & 8R remain left-hand. Just be sure to pay attention even on these patterns due to rising terrain to the north. If you get below VFR minimums and have to divert, remember you have two ILS approaches to your south and southwest within very few miles (Camarillo and the NAS). The AFCAD file is attached below. Please let me know if you find any errors as I'd be more than happy to fix them and re-post the corrected version.>I'm using the FSGenesis mesh and it makes the airport sit in a>kind of hole, any solution to raise the airport?Craig's suggestion above is a good one. You can ask Justin if he would be so kind as to lower the mesh around the airport to better blend with Mustang Landing at its current elevation. Please let me know if you're successful as I'd enjoy this fix as well.Happy flying,Kevin
July 7, 200421 yr Kevin... so that's what it means when you click the check box that says "Right Hand Patten". ATC will always instruct a right-turn approach? (if so, good... perfect for my Hong Kong AFCAD - learn something new every time I got to these forums).
