Fascinating the connection betweening disablepreload and tearing, isnt it?

It was the same for me, with tearing or 3D3Overrider I would have gone back toDX9.

MTX5.4a works very nicely and has the option to load DX9 or DX9 & DX10 aircraft.

Thanks, Paul! I'm leaning towards MTX5.4a as well. I'm just so glad that the screen tearing issue was "finally" resolved, thanks to Leonhardt. The rest of the DX-10 issues for me appear to be more of tweaks than big fixes.

I have had always Problems with vsync and tearing.

Perhaps you remember, I have had posted a solution here with the D3DOverrider.

 

I have found an other solution that works on my system.

It is so simple, that I first dont believe it.

Just add in the fsx.cfg:

[Main]

DisablePreload=1

than the tearing was gone on my system.

give it a try, and please tell me whether it woks on your system too.

It worked very good it was a "nail in the coffin" for my tearing

I used many tweaks changed this and that and was able to reduce tearing, however your option just DID IT !!!!

PS: I also do not experience any increased loading time of anything loads in a blink like before but plays without any tearing which was worse then stuttering

IMHO, I don't like it. FSX starts loading scenery even before you hit the Fly Now button. Now I'm getting about 3-4 times longer load time when I hit the Fly Now button. I understand what it's doing and how it is solving peoples problems but this setting is ridiculous. It would be better to remove this "tweak" and the next time you fly, fill in the aircraft you want to fly, where you want the flight to start up, set your weather and time, then go have a cup of coffee at Starbucks and hit the Fly Now button when you return. Your flight will start up almost instantly. If you want to be entertained while waiting for your flight to be loaded, download and run Process Monitor and you'll see exactly what's being loaded even before you hit the Fly Now button!

Hi,

I didn't realise I had this line in my cfg until I checked. Recently, I've found that if I start FSX, choose the default flight, escape as soon as soon as the ultralight appears, load a saved flight, I don't have time to go to the kitchen and make a cup of coffee, before take-off. If I set up a flight from scratch, I can make and drink two cups of coffee before there is any action!
