July 7, 200421 yr hi alli have the 737 from PMDG, but i wanna try some long haul stuff, prefer the boeings as i understand the cockpit and fmc better than the airbus,so you tell me what you think is the best plane/cockpit to use for long haul flying.rgds I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 7, 200421 yr I use 767PIC for long hauls. Yes, in FS9. pic_fs9.zip I think is the filename....you might get tarred and feathered by the PIC purists, but don't let there rubbish bother you. Be sure and read the readme in that zip file, it explains exactly what downfalls you will have in using PIC in FS9.
July 8, 200421 yr Even though it doesn't have the newer FMC, my favorite long haul airplane is by far the Ready for Pushback Version 2 742. They just released new livery packs to download as well. For a cargohead like me its the perfect airplane!
July 8, 200421 yr Agreed, RFP B742 is one of the best aircraft to have in your hangar. The learning curve is a bit steep but following the tutorial flight should get you going. And there's always something to do during the flight (fuel management, INS navigation, etc...) so it never gets boring. Not to mention possible failures, engine fires and such. :)Regards,Jurehttp://www.globecargo.org/images/VAA_Captain.jpg
July 8, 200421 yr Hey clayton4115 how do you find the PMDG 737? Im thinkin of getting it as well and just wanted users opinions on it. Does it run smooth and all that on FS2004? Is installation easy etc etc... :)
July 8, 200421 yr There is a great freeware 757 by Project Opensky and a good panel by Lonny Payne here in the library. Posky also has 767s and 747s. The panels are not as complex as the PMDG 737 of course. PMDG is working on a 747, so that will give us a nice long haul option once it has been released. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
July 8, 200421 yr Really, right now their is no complex longhaul Boeing plane with everything you want. As stated above PMDG is making one so you will have to wait for one. PSS is supposedly remaking their 777 and 747 for FS9 too. PICv2 should be good too :)
