October 17, 201213 yr Hi, I have flown pmdg 737 since it came out for fs9 and have the ngx since it was released, I am flying with fspassengers and sometimes get problems, today I was on an course on an non-profit organization for an internal 737 type rating for our 737 simulator, we did talk about the landing gear and we did also talk about the 3 wires that are places behind the radio stack that you pull to release the sprints so the landing-gears drop down by gravitation, I did limitedly think that this is useful since I have had these problems in the ngx along the time, so did check the 737 and couldn't find them, don't know the exactly location of them but I assume they are placed in the floor behind the radiostack in real-life, are this modelled in to the 737?, if yes how do I use access them?

October 18, 201213 yr The manual extension is not simulated, and this is because of the method PMDG used to simulate the gears, not only related to FSX limits. As you know, FS allow to use an alternate extension method for the gears (SHIFT G by default) but, in the NGX it will not work. Why? It is related on how the system is simulated, it was asked before to do something to let us extend the gears in case of hydraulic failure, but, it was answered that is not possible. Other than that, it should also be tricky to add the manual extension handles on the floor, some people don't use VC, some others don't use trackir or something able to move the eyepoint to the access panel. Obviously if they will add such modification to the plane I will be the first to be happy, also waiting for someone who will add the access panels for the landing gear downlock viewer that is on the floor of the cockpit and inside the passenger cabin. Sorry AFAIK the gear viewers are not present in th NG Series. Quote from "The Boeing 737 Technical Guide": "Gear Viewers (not NGs) If any green light gear lights do not illuminate after the gear is lowered, you might consider a visual inspection through the gear viewers. The main gear viewer is in the cabin and the nose gear viewer is on the flight deck. The main gear viewers are not installed on NG series aircraft." Only the "Main gear viewers" are mentioned, so does that mean the nose gear viewer is indeed installed even in the NG series :huh: Regards, Chris Volle i7700k @ 4,7, 32gb ram, Win10, MSI GTX1070.
October 19, 201213 yr There are a lot of options, maybe someone asked for them also on NGs (if it possible to do), but basically you're right, I forgot that the viewers are only on the old models. If viewers are not present a second gear indication must be present, I'll check the overhead for them. Also on some classics the second indicator is present on the overhead, this because the airplane could be used also as a cargo, and the pilots in this case cannot go into the cabin to check the visual lock.
