October 19, 201213 yr I've had an issue where if I minimized FSX or went into any of the FSX menu items during flight while in NGX, my screen would just completely turn black and I wasn't able to recover from it. I had it from day 1 since the NGX came out and wasn't able to solve it even with support from PMDG. Wel, guess what?!?! I've installed the DX10 patch and this issue completely went away. Try it if you're in the same boat as I was. Jacek G. Ryzen 5800X3D | Asus RTX4090 OC | 64gb DDR4 3600 | Asus ROG Strix X570E | HX1000w | Fractal Design Torrent RGB | AOC AGON 49' Curved QHD |
October 25, 201213 yr Commercial Member I'm sorry, but I've been having this issue as well.. What DX-10 patch? Could you perhaps link to it? It would be appreciated. Aamir Thacker
October 25, 201213 yr I'm sorry, but I've been having this issue as well.. What DX-10 patch? Could you perhaps link to it? It would be appreciated. See here, and it's remarkable how far DX10 preview has come: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/387343-the-how-to-doc/ Remember the AA-related "crawlies" that some us had in the PMDG J4100 cockpit? They are GONE (completely) with this patched version of DX10 preview. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
October 25, 201213 yr Sorry for the lame question, but does this DX10 preview patch actually make the third party add on sceneries work under DX10 is FSX? As far as I remember most of the developers have completely written off the DX10 option. Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
October 25, 201213 yr Check out the forum I linked to earlier in this thread. Many DX10 anomalies with add-on sceneries have been fixed...but a couple remain. Namely some runway lighting is affected and the color of certain taxiways is off at dawn and dusk. But no more flashing textures...a big plus. I've just begun to explore this DX10 thing and so far have been quite impressed. And it's easy to switch between DX10 and DX9 if one follows the How-to doc and backs up key config files. October 25, 201213 yr Author I'm confirming this again, the DX10 switch fixed the problem I've had since day 1 of the release of NGX. I am however considering switching back to DX9 and biting the bullet on the NGX as I don't like a couple of important things to me, scenery incompatibility and too bright nights. Jacek G.
