Aerosoft Australia is around 70 but it is missing some functionality 

 

I think ProSim is closer to 800 euro now with tax? 

 

I wish they would lower the price so more people would transition from a desktop cockpit to well, a cockpit builder. I think the software cost (and hardware) is the biggest hurdle, but whoever said this hobby was cheap huh?

Aerosoft Australia was my first suite, then FSXpand, then PMGAIFR.  I think I have run thru them all. I liked Aerosoft, but Andrew had a baby and basically stopped all development. He really could have filled the entry level simmer. I once debated about the why the price for cockpit suite software was so high and the jist of it is, you have to pay to play. 3K for a throttle, 1k for a MCP, 3K for an overhead. I think the developers feel that the heart of your sim should have the same dollar value. I imagine if PMDG ever decided to do one it would be in the 1K region despite what was originally mentioned.

If I bought prosim or project magenta it will be the most expensive software I've ever own. And all for a hobby!

 

Software would be more expensive then my 42 " HDTV, I'll have to justify the expense.

 

I'm trying to find out more info about the ifly 737 cockpit edition but even their web site is pretty scarce.

The IFly Cockpit Builders edition is just brilliant. The plane (planes actually) are as good if not better than  there is available. They  continue to  add to it (always free) plus the fact their support is second to none. They have a wonderful friendly and helpful attitude to their customers. Go to their website and ask for info in the General Discussion section and they will quickly get back to you.

Prosim is very good but getting expensive now. PMDG don't want to go this route. IFly CBE is very good - I've had them all. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

You can PM me also as I have good/bad feelings about them all. You're right about the price as it took me a long time to justify to myself the price, but it is the OS of your simpit.
