April 2, 201313 yr I went threw this about two weeks ago I had REX all ready and for the most part the Forum was correct in saying Rex for textures and Active sky for weather. So I went ahead and purchased Active sky...And they were correct they work great together. The only issue I have is what are the correct settings to get the best out of the two Programs. Can anyone help me with this.? Thanks Carlo
April 3, 201313 yr Like RJ I prefer my Flight PC to not be connected to the internet....but it can be and is when I need to d/l real weather or activate addons. The main and HUGE difference between AS6.5 and ASE. After I d/l a slice of real weather I then input my flight plan. AS6.5 would create the weather all along my flight plan to my destination and then I would shut down AS6.5 ASE will only create the weather up to about 400miles out from my start point so I have to keep it active and let it update the weather as I fly along. (My screen would flash every time it updated) The problem I started to get with AS6.5 was when I tried to input a flightplan it would take forever to try to create the weather. I sent an email to HiFi and was told this is a known problem and they were not going to fix it....I would have to update to ASE. Thankyou for the offer RJ.....I may well take you up on it. I am used to going to make a cup of tea while ASE starts up for the mo' Hi, sorry for bringing the topic up but are you using windowed mode or full screen mode? I've been using 6.5 for a very long time now and thinking of upgrading to ASE, but I hate when my sim flash for any reasons..
