November 6, 201213 yr Hello All ---- Just upgraded my system from a GTX 460 which has served me well for well over a year. No problems at all. My new card, a GTX 660 Ti with 2GB, is giving me a problem I never saw before. I have also installed the latest driver and also tried the earlier driver that came with the card. Card bios has also been updated with latest version. The problem is that I boot with a reference aircraft. Presently this is the ultralight. I then choose my aircraft from the multi-aircraft thumbnail window to fly. Before the 660 Ti install, I never had any issues at this point. Now, most aircraft will NOT load from the thumbnail selection window. The system just idles at this point and never loads and shows an aircraft. White screem usually at this point. But, if I choose an aircraft WITHOUT LOADING the reference aircraft using the rotating display window as the selection point, aircraft will load here, so far with no problems. I am stumped. Possibly the newer card requires some special setting in the fsx config file ---- like I say, I am stumped as to what the problem might be. All other software, including games, is working just fine. Any help appreciated ------ Many Thanks ----- Bob  Bob Magill
November 6, 201213 yr Hi Bob Did you uninstall the old driver first ? I think Ben Cap did a guide somewhere on this forum specifying of the need to uninstall the old driver first if you upgrade your graphics card. Regards Paul

November 6, 201213 yr Author Well, Thanks Barry and Paul ---- Went through the entire procedure as noted above and no change. This is really strange. I installed (again) the latest Nvidia driver package for the 660 Ti ---- noting that when you clean out the driver "residue", when you reboot, the computer senses that the vid card has no driver, and installs some earlier version. No way around that I am aware of -- the system cannot find the 660 Ti otherwise it would appear. Any other ideas to try much appreciated. I will keep tinkering too. Thanks!!! Bob  Bob Magill

Vic Hello Vic --- yes, I did spot that option and did use it on a couple of tries. No joy unfortunately. Just from the little exposure I have had to this card and the new drivers, something has changed. On the positive side, I notice that complex add-ons, which heretofore needed to have a "clean install" to work properly now all drop in right after a string of various aircraft replacements.....this would never happen before. But I still have the start up issue but I can start both the PMDG NGX and the Citation Mustang after five or six aircraft changes without a hitch. Also they can be started in the single plane rotation window at any time too --- Go figure. Bob Magill

Vic Hi Vic -- don't need Flight 1's flight -- easy to make your own  ---- works with most planes now. Have made some adjustments in the fsx.cfg file that are helping -- more work to do there. Thanks for the comments and feedback. Bob B) Bob Magill
