November 13, 201213 yr I like both Wx engines, but need to leave the MD11 to fly itself in real time on transpolar routes (Dubai to Anchorage, for instance). Bandselect I am using AS2012 w/SP2 in the DWC mode with REXE for textures and no FSUIPC for smoothing. I am having no problems with AP disconects. OpusFS is another story. Right now I use it for the NGX. I tried three flights with the MD-11. For right now forget it. Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
November 13, 201213 yr Author Thanks Michael - Will see where OPUSFSX development goes and stick with it for VFR non-tube liner flights with AS2012 for the long hauls! Scott Robinson
November 22, 201213 yr Perhaps I am doing something wrong but I use ASE. I follow the suggestions HIFI offer for setting it up plus the adjustments available from having a registered version of FSUIPC. I still get "turbulance" but have not so far experienced the issues mentioned here, despite many years of using the MD11. Regards Stuart
November 22, 201213 yr Author eeyore - I have found that I can fly the PMDG 747 and 737 NGX with OPUSFSX running - maybe an occassional shift in winds but the autopilot functions stay aligned. The MD11 seems a bit more sensitive - where it can fly long distances without a hitch with AS2012 or ASE, it doesn't always react well with OPUSFSX. So I know the Opus Team is working on this and hence why if I fly that bird long distance (over 1,000 NM) I will run AS weather. Scott Robinson
