  1. Thanks, gotta hit these boards a bit more!
  2. Be out of online flying for a bit. Is this news concerning the FTX release of the full NA Land Class?
  3. have you calibrated your throttle lately? What you think is power could actually be cutting out fuel.
  4. I installed gold onto a fresh W10 loadout. Don't think you will have any issues.
  5. Ok, final post, and I think we should lock this post. It is totally useless and this board should only be for sharing solutions and problems with your PMDG products. No spurious discussions that are not centered on real issues... That said, I found my FSX crystal ball and looked deeply into the future, noting that I overlooked a few future products. 777X Model Announcement Q4 2020, 777x Model Release Q1 2023 797X Model Announcement Q2 2027, 797x Model Release Q3 2030 (hypersonic drive high altitude jet) Let's lock this dog!
  6. Agreed and done!
  7. I regrettably struck a nerve when this was post was intended to be a shoot the breeze type discussion over a beer.
  8. This was just a speculation on what might be, not a declaration of what will be. The 737 NGX is great - but I see subtle differences in the 777 that means the developers improved their game even more, at least IMO. I see an opportunity to release a variant that will improve upon what exists. After all, if PMDG wasn't working incremental improvements, we wouldn't have been gifted with the VAS improved 777 model recently. This was a thought piece on the complexity of developing the models. We FSX users are working off of 2005 coding released in 2006 and I think it is cool that over 10 years the platform remains the big dog. It also shows me that the complexity of building a single aircraft model is a multi-year commitment and that a new platform, as envisioned by the NGIS crew, is an even steeper challenge.
  9. Everyone take a deep breath - THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL PMDG communication - just a speculation (informed guess) concerning future software development. No comment from PMDG is expected - this was done just to layout the estimate timelines to develop these aircraft models, NONE OF WHICH BEYOND the 747 V2, PMDG has commented on...consider it a thought piece on a hobby and no more.
  10. Pure speculation on timeline deliveries going forward .... I like the Precision in PMDG and quality takes time ... although the timeline below may not align to previous PMDG statements concerning dev efforts or aircraft they will model ... 747 V2 Release Q3 2016 (July - September) 747-8I/F Expansion Package Q1 2017 (January - March) 777/-200/-300/200ER Expansion Package Q2 2017 (April - June) 737-800/900 NGX Update (revised textures to update this model to 777 and 747V2 standards) Q3 2017 (July - September) 737-600/700 NGX Update (revised textures to update this model to 777 and 747V2 standards) Q3 2017 (July - September) 787-8 Series Model Development Announcement Q4 2017 (October - December) 787-8 Series Release Q2 2020 (April - June) 737 MAX 8 Series Model Development Announcement Q3 2019 (July - September) 737 MAX 8 Series Release Q2 2022 ( July - September ) It's gonna be great!
  11. PMDG Team - just gotta say thanks again for this most recent update. The 777 is really smooth to fly and easy on the VAS juice! Flying EGCC to OMDB now with Emirates...
  12. Freebird - Thanks for the link to the NZ Flight site. I have also been using DX10 with great success and my intent in starting the thread was more one of curiousity in understanding how the PMDG gurus set it up. That isn't in a topic PMDG wants to get into which is fine. I believe DX10, along with FSUIPC, are almost mandatory add-ons to exploit the full capability of FSX and enhance the enjoyment of PMDG products.
  13. Clearly not a topic you guys want to wade into - and I can understand that. Thanks for working the VAS reductions on the 777 and upcoming 747 V2. That dev work was an unexpected Christmas present. S. Robinson
  14. Thanks - I wasn't asking for an endorsement of DX10 fixer, just some idea of how he set it up. The guide that is pinned is three years old. Ryan made the comment which prompted my interest and I am sure a good number of your customers use DX10 fixer - not that it is required add-on for PMDG customers. S. Robinson
  15. Back in the summer of 2014 Ryan commented on the purchase of a new 780 GTX card and that he would post his findings on what was working. Would the PMDG Dev Team consider posting how they setup NI and DX10 Fixer when flying their fleet? Thanks, S. Robinson
  16. I somehow have created a situation where I can no longer mouse zoom in windowed or full screen mode. In windowed mode, I can pan around when holding the space bar, but the mouse zoom does not work. In full screen mode, I can neither pan nor zoom with the mouse when pressing the space bar. However, if I go to mouse look mode, shift+O, then I have full pan function in windowed and full screen mode. I have Opus installed, but I have never deliberately setup any cameras or views with that utility. Any ideas on how to get back to default function where I can press the space bar and pan/zoom in any window mode? Thanks
  17. Hi - I think I may have accidentally set a camera view that prevents my mouse wheel from zooming when I press the space bar. I can pan around, but I cannot zoom. When I press Shift+O I can zoom with the mouse and pan. If I accidentally did this through OPUSFSX, how can I return to the default FSX setting? Thanks, S. Robinson
  18. Thanks Dave for the comment! S. Robinson
  19. Looking to do a fresh build of FSX (for reasons I don't want to get into) but before beginning wondering if this should be the time to switch to P3D. I have been running FSX in Windows 10, with DX10 Fixer, and mostly fly PMDG aircraft (like 95%+) of the time. I know one tradeoff would be the permanent loss of the MD11 which is a big negative. Using REX, OPUS, PFPX with great results in my existing FSX build. From a developers perspective, could I ask what PMDG and the reader's on this board view as the pro's and con's of FSX or P3D? Thanks, S. Robins0n
  20. Thanks guys for this life cycle update! My 777's seem like they are fresh from a 10,000 hour overhaul. S. Robinson
  21. 629 GB is the size of my dedicated FSX folder
  22. Thanks guys for the Thanksgiving update! This looks outstanding and although I love the Queen from 2006, she is looking a bit tired when compared to your more recent offerings. So anticipating to be flying this in 2016! S. Robinson
  23. My apologies to Taxi2Gate. In January I think I messed up in the install of MMMX. I have since moved to a fresh install of FSX on a new machine and I agree with the majority of comments that this is a very well done airport. My mistake was not activating the three scenery layers correctly using SCM2004. The mistake was mine, nothing is wrong with MMMX or SCM 2004. So I can say it is one of the top tier sceneries on the market.
  24. I do plenty of updates and checking of products I have purchased. MMMX operates poorly as delivered and the patches were not available the several times I went. That said, I will check again, but if the solution is disabling UTX to allow MMMX to run correctly, that is a problem I don't have with any other airport scenery designer. So yes, I believe they can raise the bar a bit with this product and I can't endorse it.
  25. Taxi2Gate MMMX - no patches, no support, no more purchases in the future. Uninstalled. Worst airport of nearly 100 I've purchased.
