I now have access again to their forum.

 

"Did you install EU England, with FTX central set at default?(I am assuming you have other Orbx regions?)"

I do have several regions and forgot to set FTX to default :-(

 

 

 

I did not come to this forum to tell fibs as Jay puts it or to run ORBX down. I had an active account and did use the validation process to create my account thats how I was able to make postings and gain access to their forum.

 

I love ORBX products, I have spent a lot of money on many of their sceneries. I prefer this type of scenery over the photo real sceneries which are very expensive and use a lot of hard drive space. ORBX sceneries are stunning and give no apparent performance hits on my computer.

 

I did say that this is perhaps a glitch, meaning a technical error so please don't give ORBX a hard time.

 

Unfortunately I have had no replies to my e-mail asking why I no longer have permission to view their forums etc. I was using the forum and posting, I had one reply I think from peter, asking me to post my terrain.cfg.

 

I received an automated e-mail reply to my request asking why I have been locked out of the forums, here is that e-mail.

The use of the word banned was probably a mis judgement and probably implanted into my head from the message above which uses it several times however, I was locked out and denied permission to view the forums.

OK. For the benefit of others:

 

When you register at the ORBX forums as a new user, you are given very specific instructions on how to validate the membership.

This requires making a single post in the correct forum as instructed.

Not reading and following the directions is the cause of the forum problems you have experienced.

 

You may thank SPAMbots and SPAM-farms for this inconvenience. Jay has now fixed the validation for you.

The purpose of the post you have copied above would have been clear to you if you read Paul's response in that thread. It simply points out that you will not be able to do as he has requested, because you cannot post inline attachments.

Could you please read the support thread you started at ORBX more carefully, rather than pasting random misinterpreted bits of it here.

Note the 24-48 hours in the automated message? That does not run out until another day from now, it IS the weekend and even though during the week I check every 2 hours, on the weekend only once a day.

 

The unfortunate thing by posting here is that unlike other companies on the AVSIM forums, any 'glitch' or user error gets utilised to start another crusade against Orbx, so forgive my apprehension in my reply. I apologise for calling you a fibber if you had the best of intentions.

Rexe forum has the same rules, you first need to register with your purchase order to gain access to the main forum

Sometimes with cell-phone texts and forum postings, it's very easy for messages to be taken out of context or misinterpreted. We do not have the benefit of having a conversation face to face and cannot correct ourselves immediately as in a real life conversation, this is one of the problems with communicating using text.

 

I don't understand why people would want to knock ORBX, in my opinion it's a product that to me has revolutionized my flight sim experience with stunning scenery/innovative features and textures.

 

Now for some really good news!!!!!!.

 

I am no expert on the workings of flight simulator but I found a copy of an old terrain.cfg in my FSX folder. I don't know why I backed it up but I replaced my terrain.cfg with the old one and now the FTX Central works and I can select my ORBX textures again! I reinstalled the England scenery just in case. Oh no! now I want the Garry Summons airports to compliment the scenery. Just enough time to check out the scenery before going to work. I am getting an unhanded exception error now when using FTX Central and there are areas of missing textures which are just light tan with trees on them. Will try are complete re-install.

i looked at orbx and it shows you as a newbie with no post . not banned .

 

so before everyone jump to conclusion since they are a bitter group here ( mod is banned at orbx , leader of the pack here ) make sure you follow account activation properly.

 

there were a few here that had the same problem . i thought you all would know better before getting out the torch and pitchfork again .

Interesting, you're using IP avoidance software as evident by the logged IP addresses on your account that also seem to be related to other accounts on this forum. You are banned for hiding your real identity with IP Evasion software. At least be a man and have the courtesy of not hiding who you really are.
