November 19, 201213 yr Hi All, I have just purchased PMDG 737NGX and in the instructions it tells you to set the Texture_Max_Load = 4096 I have done this but every time I close FSX and then go and check the FSX.CFG it has gone back to 1024 Does anyone have any ideas why this may be happening? November 19, 201213 yr If you make any other changes in the sim, FSX will change this value back to 1024. Bert
November 19, 201213 yr Did you change it after FSX shutdown? Like, close FSX, wait half a minute, then edit the line? It must disappear from the task manager. And as Bert said, each time you change the settings, this will revert.
November 19, 201213 yr If you make any other changes in the sim, FSX will change this value back to 1024. see if I got this right. So if I only edit 'max texture load', start the sim and not changing anything until I close the sim, will the value be the same? also, if I edit the value after running ASE 2010, the value will be back to default. If I make the change after running ASE, it will not go back to default (i'm using 2048).
November 19, 201213 yr So if I only edit 'max texture load', start the sim and not changing anything until I close the sim, will the value be the same? Yes. Not even entering settings and "OK"ing them.
November 19, 201213 yr Yes. Not even entering settings and "OK"ing them. wow didn't know that. thanks a loot..
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member It's been a long while since I've monitored the NGX forums, so take that into account. PMDG said that the 4096 setting didn't actually apply to the aircraft, but to cloud and ground textures. Maybe they didn't update the documentation since the initial release? Bottom line, set this at what's best for your computer. If you can handle the higher resolution, by all means run it at 4096!
