November 22, 201213 yr Hi all I'm contemplating a fresh install of FSX as I am having serious CTD issues that I've been as yet unable to address. These are the addons I have/am getting and was wondering if there's a particular order I should install them in? UTX Europe GEX Europe ORBX England REX Active Sky Evolution Individual Payware Airports EZDok FSUIPC SweetFX FSBuild PMDG NGX QW BAe146 Also if someone could clarify what the correct layering of scenery addons would be based on the above I'd be much obliged. Many thanks Martin
November 23, 201213 yr Why not un-install all your addons, and see if you still have the CTD problems with a fresh fsx.CFG file? Failing that, do a fresh install of FSX, but dont install any addons for a while, just fly it naked and see if you still have CTD problems? Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
November 23, 201213 yr Author Hi Richard I think (hope!) I've got my CTD issues sorted so thankfully am not about to go down the reinstallation road! Thanks Martin

November 23, 201213 yr Author Bad overclocking I think. Don't know what I did wrong but since I went back to default, no problem. So back to square one on that front but at least I can fly!
November 23, 201213 yr UTX Europe - Place just above propeller objects in the Scenery Library. Install anytime. GEX Europe - This replaces your default textures for Europe. Install anytime. ORBX England - Orbx handles placement in the Scenery Library using FTX Central. You do not add this one. Install anytime. REX - Place just above UTX in Scenery Library. Install anytime. Active Sky Evolution - Installs in own folder and is not placed in Scenery Library. Install anytime. Individual Payware Airports - Install above UTX and FS Global. EZDok - Install anytime. No order. FSUIPC - Install anytime. No order. SweetFX - Install anytime. No order FSBuild - Install anytime. No order. PMDG NGX - Install anytime. No order. QW BAe146 - Install anytime. No order. FS Global - Install first. Place just above Propeller Objects in Scenery Library. Hi Martin, My recommendations in RED above. In addition, do not install them all at once and then start up FSX. Each time you install a program, an aircraft, or airport, startup FSX and run and test the program. Once running properly, start on the next. Have fun! November 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member I had an issue with FSpassengers, soon as I enter drop down menu in FSX, FSP stops to work, like it's paused. So, I edited dll.xml and exe.xml, erased entries of some unused and uninstalled plugins, and voilla FPS working fine. FSX is extremely sensitive to lots of lugins, addons and such. So what is the link with this topic? I think there is no rule of order wihch plugin or addon to install first, just you must be careful and you must treat FSX with care, it's kind a separate OS inside the OS (Win7 in my case). Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Once running properly, start on the next. Huge agreement with that... Its just like diagnosing a faulty computer in reverse... Its been a few weeks now and I still don't have ALL my add-ons installed yet, because I also like to get used to the default stuff, then let the add-ons WOW me when I install them too, gives me a better sense of appreciation for what has been improved :-) Richard...
