December 5, 201213 yr I originally acquired the B737NG series because I wanted to emulate the 737 regional flights of Hapaag-Loyd, now part of TUIfly, around Europe. Then I picked up the European flights of Air Berlin using mostly 738s. I made Aerosoft a little wealthier acquiring many of their European suites of airports including their Balearic Islands for the huge base of Air Berlin at Palma de Mallorca (LEPA) as their transition hub to Spain and Portugal.
December 8, 201213 yr Author Well, I think the iFly 737 is the one I actually want and fly some of the SAS and norwegian routes in the scandinavia and to destinations around europe. I think I have to get the new FlyTampa Dubai Rebooted also and try the ESSA-OMDB route using Norwegian 737
December 8, 201213 yr Well, I think the iFly 737 is the one I actually want and fly some of the SAS and norwegian routes in the scandinavia and to destinations around europe. I think I have to get the new FlyTampa Dubai Rebooted also and try the ESSA-OMDB route using Norwegian 737 In FSBuild for ESSA to OMDB with the last weather I had loaded I got just short of 2,900 nm and about 6 hours 10 minutes of enroute time. I set FL390 for cruise but FL370 might have been more realistic with typical CDI and loading. Interesting. I thought the distance would have been longer.
December 10, 201213 yr For what it's worth: I definately would go for iFly. I have both and iFly is soo much better, specifically in the auto-flight department. After 2 service packs I still have loads of issues with the auto flight and throttle system of QW BAe. Also regarding system rendering, iFly is much better. December 11, 201213 yr Hi, I´don´t really understand these requests; It should really come down to what aircraft you like in the real world. Or maybe I´m wrong..? Despite being a fantastic modelled simulation, I would never go for PMDG (or iFly) 737 NGX, for the simple reason that I think the 737 NGX is darn ugly, and reminds me too much of the crappy service offered by low-price carriers. Hence, my vote goes for the 146 – much more interesting plane. BR, Anders
December 11, 201213 yr The carriers using the 146 and the B737NG series can be frugal or have very nice services. It is not a factor which model they use. Flybe used to use the 146s and had minimum if any meal service. Southwest SWA is frugal in services (but offered ala carte) on their 737s. Air Berlin has sufficient meal service on its short haul and longer routes using 738s. 737 aircraft can have economy plus first class or all economy based on the airlines order. In other words these aircraft are both used by low cost and traditional airlines with matching service. It really depends on route length. Here's an example of dual service on Alaska Airlines flights between KSJC\KLAX and Honolulu PHNL: http://www.alaskaair.com/content/travel-info/food-beverage/food-main-cabin.aspx http://www.alaskaair.com/content/travel-info/food-beverage/food-first-class.aspx?lid=nav:travelInfo-foodBev
