Update to the -8i?

Featured Replies

Hi, PMDG team:

Any ideas on when the update to the -8i may release. I'm understanding that this is going to be a major update to the 747-8i product and am holding off on picking it up until said update. Advice?

Cheers.

I would imagine that the update would be released in a few months. I believe it is the last known product on the production list, after the DC-6, B737BBJ expansion, B777, and B747-400 V2 (the order may be a little different). Maybe at the earliest February?

Thanks. Looking forward to it.

I believe the 744 V2 (8i) is an Entirely new product rather than just an updated version of the current 747X. Much like the NGX is to the previous pmdg 737NG

I know that it is a separate, stand-alone product. I was just using the terminology that the original poster used.

Yea.... sorry If I sounded like a know-it-all. I sensed that the original poster thought of the new 747 as simply an update of the old one.

Oh—not at all! More like I should be sorry for being unintentionally matter-of-factly and serious.

Thanks for the info - I was not aware that it was going more than a fancy new livery set; was hoping that it was a major update similar to the one you are referring to with the NGX because otherwise the online promo looked pretty disappointing..
