December 7, 201213 yr I have the feelthere Phenom 100 buisness jet, and there are no FS9 repaints for this plane. I did see about 4 or 5 FSX paints for this plane. Can those paints be made to work on the FS9 model? If so how?
December 7, 201213 yr a FSX native paint cannot be used in FS9. a FS9 paint can be used in FSX (may not look as good as in FS9). some FSX paints are really FS9 paints but the artist lists only as FSX when uploading to the library. look in the 'readme.txt' file for the author's contact information and ask him/her. -- D. December 7, 201213 yr Some can, some cannot, depends on the model. Are the texture filenames the same in the FSX repaint as they are in the FS9 texture folders? This is not always a deal breaker, if they are different you might get away with renaming them. What format are the FSX textures? If they are DDS they will have to be converted to an FS9 friendly format. What size are the FSX textures? If they are larger than 1024x1024 they will have to be re-sized for use in FS9. FSX utilizes the texture.cfg fallback system so the repaint may not include all of the needed textures. You can usually work around this by copying the missing textures from another FS9 texture folder. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
December 7, 201213 yr And there is one more caveat - the FS9 model has to be texture mapped the same as the FSX model. If all of the above is true, it should be possible. Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
December 7, 201213 yr Author Thanks guys. I guess it's not as easy as I thought it could be. I wonder why no one has painted the FS9 FT Phenom 100? It's been out for a while now (since like Februrary).
